Hi Guys,

Got the club champs on the 2nd, and I'm playing really well to my handicap atm last 3 weeks have been stroke and I've shot 66,68,67 so off the back of some good form thinking i might be able to make a run this year.

So question being what should i be working on?

Cheers,

presuming those are subpar rounds?

If so you obviously have ability..... just maintain your feel in your short game

You obviously have some form, so stay centred and don't try to win it on the first hole. There are 17 to go, and if you are good enough, there will be another 54 holes to follow I presume. It is stroke so keep yourself in it, take your medicine when appropriate, no hero shots, and back yourself to get up and down most of the time. Try to minimise anything worse than a bogey, the pars and birdies will come.

I'd be working on ways to convince myself that the club champs is just another round/s of golf. You have obviously felt comfortable during your last rounds, working out what made you comfortable and transferring the same mental attitude to the club champs is key. Be positive and convince yourself that you will start off each round and finish each round with the same self control it took to make those recent good scores.

Not nearly as much as you should be working on for the OzGolf Champs!

I wouldn't be working on too much to be honest, a few things though:

1. Maintain your feel on the greens, keep up the short game practise.
2. Stick to your regular routines and game plan. If you don't hit balls before a round normally dont do it during the championships (This is a classic I see every year!)
3. 4 rounds is a long time in club champs (usually 1 month) a lot can happen so don't try anything stupid and blow yourself out of th water early.

Practice having a triple early in your round, cos if you cant recover from one you are going to be stuffed in a 4 rounder.

Im normally a pretty cool headed golfer and know when to take my medicine, golf for me atm is all about fun and mucking around so im going to take that same attitude to the clubbies. added practice in going into my weekly routine such as drinking bundy and coke from a large silver cup, victory dance the putter discard and the fist pump.

Currently the winning bidder on several new drivers on e bay and a putter all to go into the bag the week of.

Thanks for all the feedback
