Paul Gallen & Chris Sandow the little prick loves to run in with the shoulder late in a 4 man tackle, real brave. One of these days he will get smashed by one of the big units.

The recollection had reminded him of the time he was part of an Australian squad preparing for the 1999 World Cup final against France. "We had one of those video conferencing systems where players could talk to and see their wives and kids back in Australia. Any way, in the week before the final, Phil Kearns, who had been injured and had returned home, was using one to send us a good-luck message.

"He was talking to the guys and when he walked into shot it was obvious that he had no shirt on. I thought he just had no top on but his wife, who was holding the video camera, panned down to reveal that Phil was stark naked. Better than that, his dog - he had a big Alsatian - then walked over, nudged him in the nuts and started licking. I've never seen anything like it.

"We found out afterwards that Phil had rubbed jam or honey into his groin to get his dog to do that on cue. It was his way of settling down the squad who were really tense and worried at the final coming up."

Sandow, you guys are kidding a niggler yes but I am sorry he is by no means the worst.

Lots of others way worse
Watmough
Bird
Gallen
Young
Parker
Thaiday

etc etc

Almost every team has one and their job is to do that. The new play the ball rulings will see more niggling as if you get the bloke to step away and try to play the ball he will be penalised. Will be lots of turnovers that way in the near future.

Maybe why someone is a grub would be an idea.

I hate turds that celebrate prior to scoring (Sandow is a shocker for that rubbish).

I fail to see why someone that plays tough and hard in a sport where they are meant to smash people is a grub?

Corey Parker? the bloke is tough as but I can't see how he is a dirty player.

What hoppa did was being a grub.

Grunt
13th March 2011, 08:32 PM
I take the constant niggler as a grub but I believe grub is the wrong word.

I dont think Sandow or any ones else's antics before scoring is bad, the game is purely entertainment driven. They are just showmen.

PeteyD
13th March 2011, 08:34 PM
Crap, it is disrespectful and arrogant. Nothing to do with being a showman. Best thing ever is when some knob is doing that crap and they drop the ball or have it knocked out.

One Origin game where players get fired up is hardly a basis to form that opinion. I saw the niggling stuff you are referring to from at least 6 different players last night from both sides.
We are talking about a bloke voted best and fairest by his team mates last season.

Locky had what looked like four Jet fighters ready to strike on that play, all he had to do was hit a chest with a pass, on one of the three outside him (or as it turned out Slater inside) and they were always gunna score the defence that side was shot..masterplay of the game..

Knees tonight, trying to rip Thaiday's head off a couple of years ago, the grapple that went wrong last year when he hyper-extended his elbow, to name just a few. He's a known grub. I can't stand the Storm and their dirty tactics and he's in the thick of it.

I just wish the refs would blow no penalties at all. It seems they let the slow play the balls go for a while and then change their mind without telling anyone.

It did seem that the 15 for QLD was getting under a few Blues skins late last night. Didn't think that was his go but he went close to getting clocked a couple of times. That was the only disappointing thing for mine, NO STINK 8)

If Gallen is not the BIGGEST GRUB in the NRL im not here............how many times do you see him attack the players neck while in a tackle or try & grab the arm on the ground.......

I know they try to slow the PTB down but he is the BIGGEST GRUB in the game...

When the same is done to him all he does is complain to the Ref.

That TRY Thaiday scored would of been a TRY another other day of the week.............lets see if they keep up the same consistancy now they have made this decision....

Jarro, quote from a Sea Eagles blog

Michael Oldfield also showed he is a class outside back, and probably as a centre. His draw and pass for one of Manly’s tries was all class. Manly are lucky to have him, and should ensure they don’t lose him, given Steve Matai has now found a second home at the NRL Judiciary. Matai won’t be around for much longer. Sooner or later he is going to cop a big suspension, which if his contract terms are half decently drafted, ought to give Manly a big exit option. Which is a pity, because whilst he is a fine player, he is also a major liability.

Jarro
18th July 2011, 04:16 PM
It's a shame too Perry, as he's a great player.

I know you have to have a bit of an intimidatory factor about you to a certain degree these days, as there are a hell of a lot of fine players running around, but Matai goes way beyond that more often than not.

Grubs? Pussycats the lot of them compared to Bob Cooper of Western Suburbs. Knocked 3 Illawarra players out in a brawl in 1982 to earn a 15 month suspension. Unfortunately the Youtube video of his handiwork appears to no longer exist.

And you've just made your biggest thug captain for next year.

Next, you'll be getting Julian O'Neill to come back and coach.

Yeah .. he'd get a boxing champions belt if they just let him come in punch someone when they arent looking.

Just ask him how Darius and Karmichael are ...
