Gents,

I'm trading my car in to upgrade the bride to a new Pajero. The pr#cks offered $26k trade-in, similar cars going for $30-32k on Carsales, but I need to do it quickly and easily.

I'll take $26k from anyone, this is a bit of a bargain. It still owes me $32k, but I need to get the brides car this week.

Only has 40,000km on the clock, has full sportspack with driving lights, paddle shift on the steering wheel, full two-tone leather interior, 5 x 18" Alloy Wheels and whatever else was in the sportspack...

Colour is Blue Mica (which is basically darkblue!)

If anyone is genuinely interested, I'll send some pics.

a couple of marks on the 5th alloy wheel where the bride decided she would like to park really close to the kerb!

its now the spare in the boot....

sorry for the offtopic post, but what Pajero are you getting? The RX seems like good value at mid-$50k's. I hope you're getting the diesel. The petrol is not in the same league.

Don't forget once you get your Pajero, you need to get dealership servicing to get the full 10 year warranty. I think they do a checkover at the 5yr mark to certify it's been serviced properly before signing off on the extra 5years.

not getting a new one mate, getting an 09 VRX wtih the Family Pack (DVD in roof, sidesteps, towbar, roofracks and lots of electric stuff)

I wanted a diesel, but most likely getting the V6 as its a bit cheaper and we'll turn it over again in 5-7 years.

Cheaper to service and cheaper to buy, Diesel benefits obviously being last longer, cheaper fuel/rego/insurance.

fair enough. A VRX is a pretty flash wagon. Enjoy.

Just going to add my 2 cents
That A4 is a bargain!

yep - dealers can be pr#cks sometimes.

I understand they need to make money, so was never expecting market value, but $26k is a bit rude.

thats why I'd rather let it go to someone else for that and screw the dealer

yep, I'll have a 2001 Mazda Tribute with 90,000 on the clock coming up shortly for the same treatment.

Looking like they get about 13k on carsales, so should get offered about 9! Lucky I won't need to sell it as quickly!

What would you give me trade in on a 94 widebody camry with 211,000k on it. Its a white V6 auto - and for what it is, goes like a train. Although I hate it every second I drive it......

Sale open until Thursday.

No lowballs please, I have a trade-in offer at this price, so it's kinda pointless to lowball me!

Peter

Moe,

Why not stick in on carsales for the week at 28k? The ad won't cost you much and the 30 minutes it would take you to put the ad up might get you an extra 2k.

Moe Norman
7th March 2011, 04:27 PM
I considered that, but the chances of someone coming through at that price and being able to make a committment by Thursday are unlikely.

$28k isn't sufficiently low enough to garner an immediate sale.

There are other factors at play too, as the trade allows me to hide negative equity on the hire purchase - whereas if I sell the car privately, I'll need to kick the cash in to cover the difference.

SOLD!

A guy at work bought the lease out from me and I gave him $3.5k.

So essentially got $28.5k for it in the end, dealer not happy!
