I'm always interested in how the reigning champion of an event approaches defending his title the following year.

Vegas has an usual approach, shooting +9 in round 1:shock:

From what little I saw on Fox Sports this morning it looked like the wind was bringing quite a few players undone.

From memory Camilo gave up 7 shots through a 4 hole stretch (1 bogey & 3 doubles).

Adam Scott had +7 including an 8 on the par 3 15th

"Adam Scott played the three holes 7 over, with three shots into the water. He had a quintuple-bogey 8 on No. 17." Report (http://www.golf.com/golf/tours_news/article/0,28136,2057155,00.html)

Maybe he should've played this off the tee to keep it out of the wind ...

Heath Slocum's 4 iron shank into the middle of the lake was impressive!

That just makes me feel good about my game. I do the same sh*t as the pro's do!

Rickie Fowler's massive hook on 16 or 17 was pretty awesome too.

It is pretty easy to shank a 4i when you are trying to keep it under the wind...

The ball is a mile back and he is closing the face like a bastard,

Very tough conditions out there on Thursday but that is still fantastic to see!
Scotty had 33 and 32 putts the last two days. (2.0 and 2.2 putts per GIR respectively).
He'll be back to the old putter before too long me thinks.

Sure was tough conditions.

I noticed while checking the Fantasy Golf Comp that after the first round only 8 players out of 144 broke par.

After the first 2 rounds only 12 of the final 66 players are under par for the comp.

It's fun watching them struggle on the par 3 15th

What's with all the tyre marks on the greens? I've seen at least one putt hit them and bounce up. Surely it's not their mowers!

They playing at HArtfield?

They are pretty bad. More like Kennedy Bay though, they are wide like car tyre marks.

To all concerned, I wasn't under the influence (although it was a reasonable assumption), I'm just ordinary at proof reading what I'm about to post...

Sabbatini is right up there in the ugly stakes isn't he. Maybe its his choice of hats.

MegaWatty

The hat is because he had some pretty severe cancer removed from his face.

He certainly looks like an arrogant ****er.

Nice win though ... Y.E.Yang tried hard to peg him back and nearly did.

Black Nickel KBS in the irons...with what looked like Pure Sof Wraps...?

Have a set with EXACTLY that combination. Luckily I don't have one of those stupid hats.
