Yep you've got me pegged AP. I planned my RL to start next Thursday and paid my $85 2 months ago knowing you had plans for a gameon the 11th ;-)

Considering we still have R1 games outstanding I don't think its a big rush. Never know you might get a job and not be playing 4 times a week and fudging that HCP by the time we play :-0

A full group has been booked for 6:48a (6:00a seemed a little too early). Two spots available.

Just to let you know, the course is in superb condition at the moment , the greens in particular are superb ... and FAST !!!! ..... however, the pro-shop is non-existant !!

The old pro there had a gutful of the place, packed up all his stuff, and walked out .... there aren't even any pull buggies available.

Eag's spoke with management and found out that Drummond golf will be setting up shop there in the next couple of weeks.

So you didn't do it on the punching bag at the gym - you were pulling yourself?

AndyP
10th March 2011, 09:14 PM
Iain, goonie might be able to tell us, as he was asking before his matchplay last week. I get the feeling it's dud.

jarro, can you make it on short notice? Otherwise, I'll just have to look forward to playing my approach shot first every ****ing time, while still writing down a lower score on most holes.

Jarro
11th March 2011, 06:26 AM
nah can't make it now ..... sorry :(

Were the greens still super quick ?

Were the bunkers still devoid of sand ?

Solid round Chopps considering the lack of golf this year.
AP, 28pts what happened?

AndyP
11th March 2011, 04:30 PM
Quick? Hell no. There was plenty of dew on them to start with, and it looks like they had been renovated in the last few weeks. Wasn't this the case last week? There was sand on them today.

The bunkers didn't seem like they had a lot of sand, but they were a bit wet and compacted.

The greens were mint last week.

Shame they had to reno them before your round :(

Chivas Regal. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Chops was very good considering. He had an embarrassing amount of putts that were on line, but just short.

Jarro
11th March 2011, 04:36 PM
How'd the matchplay go ?

AndyP
11th March 2011, 04:37 PM
It wasn't a full renovation then, as there was no coring done. Maybe I'm just looking for something to blame for my inability to get the ball in the cup from outside 20cm.

It was close and came down to the last hole.

Oooooohhhhhhhh, how exciting !!

Just like the match between goonie and myself

AndyP ..... be honest ..... who were you rooting for on the day ?

Iain
11th March 2011, 04:47 PM
All square...

We both had chances, but both looked like absolute gumbys on the greens. I actually hit more fairways and greens than normal, just couldn't putt....

Jarro
11th March 2011, 04:55 PM
So when's the rematch ?

AndyP

AndyP ..... be honest ..... who were you rooting for on the day ?
I did my best to put both of them off.

I upset Chops on the third, after Iain hit a crap putt and I told him to mark his next putt and take his time, when he was looking to do an ambitious tap-in reaching over Chops line.

I then screwed Iain up after he was seeking relief from a sprinkler head on his line just off the green on the 7th. I told him that he couldn't take it and he'd have to chip over it, which he then fluffed. The Rules of Golf agreed with me, and so did Chops and Iain after some discussion on the next hole; the Local Rules did not.

Probably the most disappointing thing about being a member there was how often they renovated the greens. They seemed to scarify them every couple of weeks.
