Question for all of you.

When you organise a matchplay round do you do it by PM or just a simple post in the matchplay thread?

Do you think it should all be done by PM or vise Versa?

A bit of both and it depends on how forum active the member is.

personal choice, who really cares?

Last years NSW Matchplay seemed to all be smoke and mirrors and lots of forfiets. Trying to make sure it does not happen again this year. It seems you guys in Brisbane put it in the open forum and get it organised pretty well seamlessly.

PM for mine ... well, that's the way i usually sort it out.

Once it's all sorted, then post a thread with all the details :)

Grunt, the NSW event had very little transparency and as a result people didn't seem to care about the result.

I think Megawatty stole the WA title last year somehow.

Nothing. Delete it if you like.

Haha. I saw yossaians name and organization in the same thread and had to investigate further. As suspected yoss had nothing of value to add.

+1. A PM means an email notification.

But if a person is going to stuff and lead to a withdrawal post it in a thread.

Yes he did. Too many pm's allowed it to happen.

February/March is traditionally a busy time for serious club golfers, due to pennant commitments. (Top 10 A-graders are playing trials and matches, good members are caddying/officiating and some clubs even field B and C grade teams.)

In 2011, Ozgolf NSW has fixed the past problem of encouraging a big draw (24+ players) and then trying to organise games with infrequent posters, which led to many forfeits.

Virge and I will PM each other for our game in late March/April, after our pennant seasons finish.

Anyway, with only 4 rounds, we could knock the 2011 title over in two months. (If we haven't progressed by the time you receive your group certificate, then give a kick in the arse.)
