Michael (Septembersquall) is a good guy.

His Ho'ing qualities will allow him to fit in nicely around here :)

Thanks Chappy.

I was worried when I saw both Mizuno Raw/BlackOxide and an Adams 9105D for sale. (Although the use of capitals, punctuation and 'No idiot marks' on the driver was a fair indication that he wasn't selling out of Shepparton.)

I'll agree with that as it was I who bought the 9015D head!

Will post some pics tonight.
These were Black Oxide while I was using them (last 12 months).
Now returned to raw after being pulled last night.
Will be putting the Rifle shafts in some heads more suited to my (limited) ability.

Could these heads perhaps be those which were blessed by the almighty zig?

You mean like "take off every zig... for great justice?"
Or is it some obscure ozgolf thing I'm not up to speed with yet?

Are they worth more if they are zig blessed?
If so, they definately are.
If not, I have no idea what you're talking about,,,

I see, thanks for the link.
No, I have no idea who this Zig guy is.
I got these originally with the new Black Oxide treatment done by a shop in the US.
Used them with the Black Oxide until this week.
Pulled the shafts to soft-step into my new heads.
The black oxide was wearing off the soles and faces so I chucked them in the CLR bath.
Nice satin raw finish now which will develop a rust patina over time.

wow, what an epic story that was, almost needs an intermission halfway-through

I think we may still be in the zig intermission now. I pity anyone from Shep. who joins up now. Bound to initially be tarred with the zig-brush. :)

I know this is off topic, but those guys who have or have used raw/oxided heads, do they leave brown marks etc.. on the ball.
Only asking as my TM TP wedge is the dark model and when i flush it i get a nice breon mark on my new pill!

you must install shafts and grips before using
cheers

Actually, the raw ferrous metal is now not protected from the elements like chrome plated clubs.
This means that the clubs will develop a rusty patina over time.

Many like this appearance - hence the popularity of raw wedges.
Ping, Callaway and Scratch offer this as a "vintage" finish.

Also, as they are not chromed, you can apply a variety of surface finishes if you wish.
Some people use a plum-brown chemical treatment (cold applied - just wipe it on by hand).
Others finish in a black oxide finish which produces a satin black look.
Some craziiies torch them with a gas torch, which makes them go a funny colour too.

HTH, by the way, sorry about the smartphone pics,,,
