Hi Everyone,
I am writing an article on golf accessories for the magazine I work for. Only problem is I don't know much about golf. Can you guys help me out? My article is a wishlist of your dream golf gear / accessories. If money were no object, what would you put on that list?
Thanks,
Michelle

In that case, I'd have a metallic blue golf cart with gold wheels, and 555 painted all over it.

How much would you pay for a magazine, where the journalists don't know about the topics?

I never said it was a golf magazine! It's a travel magazine and one small article was going to be a wishlist on golf accessories and I was going to donate to the person who offered useful information a day of golfing at their favourite course, but I guess that isn't going to happen anymore.

My 10,000 volt ankle bracelet negates the need for a travel magazine.

Well, if that the way your homos feel then I'm off to the picture game thread to post some more borderline soft core porn pics (whose name might now be Michelle...)

Now a genuine answer ...

If you want to find fancy golf products that would also interest a general readership, then grab a copy of Australian Golf Digest and look at the advertisements and new products. If they can afford to advertise and it gets your attention, then it would tick the 'high-end' and 'interesting' boxes.

(Unfortunately, most posters on this site have realised that a high sticker cost does not equate to better performance, and tend buy discounted, second hand or from OS.)

For a general readership, I'd suggest get in touch with Callaway golf, as they seem to do this well. They sponsor 'ambassadors' such as Alice Cooper, Justin Timberlake and other celebrities to be seen using their product.

Callaway also have 'golf fitting' centres in Australia, which essentially a sports-lab for golfers to try all their new equipment options and get computerised results, which analyses which clubs best suit the individual golfer.

The other golf company of interest may be Ping, who most punters have probably heard of, and have just released the K15 model range, with materials and technology to make the clubs more forgiving for the less-than-perfect golfer.

Travel wise, then new course at Hamilton Island is interesting and spectacular. (Or Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand for the ultimate wow factor, with fairways surrounded on both sides by 100m cliffs!).

Give these companies a call, and they will help with information and material.

are you after legitimate products, or something that doesnt exist yet?

If the latter, then a golf bag with built in heating and drying to keep the grips dry when its raining. I hate wet slippery grips.
