Yeah i posted that clip in henno's thread as soon as i found out GR had died.

Great song, and as you say, awesome sax solo in it.

A truly great song.

Sad...63 yrs old. His battle with the bottle (and depression) is fairly well documented.

He also used to be in a folk group with BILLY CONNOLLY called The Humblebums!

My dad, who is a drummer in Scotland, also knew him a little from his early days in The Humblebums and Stealers Wheel.

I grew up listening to a fair bit of Gerry (and have a few of his albums in my collection)...some really good songs such as Right Down The Line, Get It Right Next Time, The Royal Mile, City To City, Whatever's Written In Your Heart.
