Hi All

Question for you all in regards to Golf Shoes. For the first time in a while i have had golf shoes go off and cause me all sorts of pain on the golf course.

How long do you all get out of a pair of Golf Shoes? I used to get 12 months of playing alot. Since I dropped back in the playing in the past 2 years, my shoes are now 3 years old.

Yesterday my feet throbbed for almost 5 hours after the round. The Adidas Powerband 2.0's had just died comfort wise. The shoes look almost new but they have no relief at all in the inner soles and the heel pad has worn out

I had 2 pair when playing 3 times a week. I think I will try and get another pair of Bite's. They were unreal, most comfortable, longest lasting shoe I have ever had..

One pair of Footjoy Sports, I will never buy anything but Footjoy from now on.
I have tried most brands, but Footjoy crap over anything else I have tried.

I have 4 pairs but only 2 in rotation at the moment. In the past I've always replaced shoes before the spikes wore out, but my Nike Air Zoom Elite II's have lasted extremely well so they'll be staying on a while longer.

I have 6 pair in rotation, but 3 of those are just about worn out and due for retirement. They would between 2 to 3 years old now I guess. I play 3 days a week on average and probably go to the range 2 days a week ave, so I am wearing a pair for a few hours most days. All are Footjoys.

Hmmm...

...actually, no.

I've got 2 really old pairs that I use for the wettest winter rounds (or hitting out of the creek @ Araluen) and rotate ALL of my other pairs.

They number several... 9, in fact!

Two pairs in rotation, the older pair are coming up to 3 years with still plenty of life left.

having worked in sports store in my younger days, I can say on good authority that golf shoes/walking shoes should not be made to last for more than 18 months, regardless of how often they are worn.

Unfortunately, Adidas are (IMO) the worst in the world for comfort. They use what is essentially a big piece of rubber and some flexible plastic in their shoes for cushion and support and wear out very, very quickly in comparison to others.

Puma's seem to be the way to go, and I have previously used ASICS golf shoes before that are a Joy to wear. Nike ones are definately worth it (assuming u dont mind paying more) as well as Mizuno's (if your willing to spend 3 times as much)

Steer clear of the Callaways, dunlop etc. they are crap and dont look after your feet.

Puma's seem to be the way to go, ....

I use my Eccos & Puma Cell Fusions in rotation. Have used Eccos since I started playing. I didn't think anything could be more comfortable than Ecco. Puma proved me wrong.

I'm settled on 4 pairs with 2 that are usually in course rotation (my FJ Dryjoys and Contours) and driving range rotation (my Puma Scrambles). Sure, I've only had the FJs for about 3 months, but I'm pretty confident that they'll still be doing a good job in 12 months time.

i have 4 pairs of Adidas 4.0 that i rotate each time i play.

I got 12 months out of a pair of FJ dryjoys playing twice a week and at range once or twice a week. they are still in good shape, but not as comfortable as my 4.0s.

I have 2 pairs of Nikes, 1 pair of Puma and 1 pair of Adidas 360 4.0's in rotation plus a pair of Etonics I wear to the range.
I also have a new pair of Pumas on the shelf.

Had 2 pairs of Footjoys...both comfy but the Dryjoys even though a D fitting got quite loose and didn't offer a lot of lateral support. Still on the shelf for practice shoes.

The Nike Elite II's are out of the box comfy shoes and would heavily recommend them. I will wait and see on the Adidas 360 4.0's....they feel nice but only carted in them.

Not sure if they're a bargain. They are the leather ones though. A lot of the cheaper Puma's are synthetic.

Yep, they're the leather, waterproof, gusseted tongue, bells & whistles model that Rickie Fowler wears.

The ones in your link are a fair way down the Puma pecking order. Light, good for summer (dry) golfing but that's about it.

I'm confused. They're waterproof leather buy not the greatest. Is that what you're getting at?

And you have a pair of RF style ones?

Sorry my bad. Didn't read all the way down the ad. Just went on looks & based it on a pair of my course saddles which are about a year old. Mine aren't leather but but still have the same sole pattern as your one's. Your one's (http://www.shop.puma.com/Men/Footwear/Golf/Course-Saddle-Golf-Shoes/pna884629045532,en_US,pd.html) obviously are leather.

Yep, I have the Cell Fusion leather ones. They are streets ahead of my course saddles in terms of comfort & support.

OZ (and UK) 1/2 sizes are same length but a wide fitting i.e. a 9 & 1/2 is a wide 9. US 1/2 sizes are actually that, 1/2 way between, so a 9 & 1/2 is half way between the length of a 9 and 10. They have up to 5 width options I think. Narrow, Medium, Wide, Extra Wide and D. Oz fittings have standard width and W only as far as I know.
