Squelched about in the mud at Cairns this morning with Haysey, Tomson & Cookie (yes, he's still alive!).

My swing and my putting stroke was all over the shop and I stunk it up big time on the first nine. Haysey (bless him) pointed out something I was doing wrong during the 9th hole. I finished with 11 points for the side and set myself a target of 30 pts for the round. I was in with a shot after scoring 17 pts from 10-17, then hit 2 trees and got stuck behind another to wipe the last hole. :roll:

Best round for a long time today at Tea Tree Gully and snuck back into the 70's again. Must say tho when I checked my stats they were less than impressive for fwys and GIRs. Scrambled tho and missed a lot of fwys by not much. Got a few lucky breaks too.

Goonawarra yesterday in lovely conditions.

Ordinary first 9, but made up for it on the back 9 with a run of 2 birdies and 2 pars from the 13th to 16th.

Stats on Golfshot (http://golfshot.com/Rounds/Detail/361-3416807-3417181)- Stableford points are wrong as you don't get 2 shots on the par 3's.

Very ordinary round on Monday. 78 off the stick for 33 points. Struggled from the get-go but managed to get through 11 holes 1 over. Bad chip on 12 for bogey, bad drive and 3 putts on 13 for double bogey and a bad drive on 16 for double bogey. Pars on the rest but a very disappointing finish.

Had pull hooks big time with the driver. 5 of the 7 fairways hit was with 5 wood. 1 out of 6 with the driver and 1 with a 7 iron (layup to corner). Think I know what the problem was with the round. :roll:

27 poxy points at Joondalup, the I10's are gonski. Inconsistent ball striking and lost total confidence in them. Seriously thinking about going to regular flex with new irons, going to do some tinkering around on the launch monitor

went and hit 30 balls with a mizuno mz200(?) with regular flex shaft and saw improvement straight away, could actually feel the clubhead. Looks like its R flex irons for me

Played at Camden Lakeside with Jimandr, Andrew and TS this morning in pretty warm conditions. Course was in great nick and the golf was like I normally play consistently inconsistent.

Fortunately, I hit enough good shots to encourage me to back up again for more golf next year.

14/21 for the 9's - back nine actually felt half decent for the first time in a long time. Still have accuracy issues off the tee, but things improved. 1 birdie and 7 pars with 2 wipes. 6 GIR, 2 Fairways! Had about 5 in the first cut so not too bad I spose...

Out to 17 to take on Dotty in a couple of days.

The 8813 was in the bag, and I had the pace of the greens well judged over the first 4 holes, but then changed to a softer ball and couldn't really get anything going on the remaining greens. Driver was OK, hit a few good iron shots but not enough of them, scrambling was mixed.

Next round will probably be on Wednesday at Penrith.

7:30am tee off at Mareeba for Haysey & myself this morning. We went to Cairns first but they'd had another 2 inches of rain overnight so we gave the place a swerve.

I started with consecutive wipes, but steadied to turn with 16 pts. Some average golf followed on the back, but I did enough to make 17 pts and take Hayseys money. 8)

And on the 8th day, God posted from his iPhone using Tapatalk...

40 points at Albury today. Took a wipe on the par 5 2nd, when my ball rolled under a low hanging limb into some long grass and was unfindable. No birdies - 1 wipe - and 2 bogies. Greens were a nice pace, quick enough to make you very cautious on the downhillers. Very few locusts left, too.

Last 5 single comp rounds: Played to 17, 21, 14, 10, 10.

It felt like I was just hanging on to a good score for a lot of the round and scrambling to do so. I finished strongly though and wish I could take back a few terrible putts that I had.

Next comp round: Next Saturday at Wally Park again.

Went along to Nudgee G.C today with full intentions of playing in the stab comp, only to find that the comp was cancelled this morning and the North course was closed :(

Anyway, 8 of us ventured out onto the South course for a bit of hit'n'giggle in the swampy conditions.

No great golf was played but it was good to get out on course again after such a long time away from playing (weather/motivation etc)

Back to 16 after 39 points today. Got there late, didn't warm up, then cold topped it on 1 to an unplayable and wipe it. Awesome start...
I then dad 21 points for the next 8 just keeping it in play.

Wiped 13 and 14, before parring the last 4 in for 18 for the back and 39 overall. Left a bit out there, but actually feel like I am starting to get an idea again.

The guys were telling me a bloke had 50 points yesterday - after having 24 in total on boxing day. If there is one thing the new handicap system does, it creates some massive scores for c graders...

Some good golf this week!

Had the annual cricket club 9 hole challenge, it is mostly about the NAGA but their is a bit of competition for the best golfer as well.

Ended up winning with a 38 off the stick (PAR 35).

1 birdie from 65 out, sucked it back into the cup I think. I didn't actually see it cause I was chopping my divot in.
