If you find a place that does bright orange shorts or trousers, let me know.

Shavey, I'll send through another 60 tonight. It would have been the Coolum hundred, but stupid me forgot to lodge a work travel reimbursement claim again, so I don't quite have extra cash to play around with for the week.

Yep. I've had 3 Sundays off since February. I'm sure he feels hard done by.

Either way - I'm in. All confirmed.

Sure, I like the penalty rates, but I don't go out of my way to work every weekend. I just get those shifts because I'm a nice guy and let others who have personal pressures have that day off when needed.

The churches seem to be a protected species for some reason. All of the signage outside of them is Mon-Sat. Fortunately, yellow lines are there every day.

Correct. We dont do saturdays. Sms316 is being mischeivous anyway, there is next to no chance the other guy is committing to an ordinary sunday.

Yep, and they only allow you to buy a 23kg allowance on the cheap fares. There are exemptions though that give you a 69kg allowance;

We got warning of this through work about a month or two ago; Not only do they give you no allowance for sporting gear, my understanding is that your 23kg allowance is only for one bag, any extra bags (even if they are within the 23kg allowance) will cost you extra (can't recall how much); not just Virgin either, I recall seeing Qantas listed on the memo too.

My plan, golf clubs are going as checked baggage and small suitcase (within carryon guidelines) will have all my clothes. Will be packing the golf bag full though with anything that will fit

My plan, golf clubs are going as checked baggage and small suitcase (within carryon guidelines) will have all my clothes. Will be packing the golf bag full though with anything that will fit

Ditto...depends on how much I can ship through Dotty's whatever he called it courier service.

For my clothes I have a NSW arseclowns kit bag that might be touch and go in terms of getting it past the length restrictions, but is OK with height and depth.

I've just sent an email to the Pelican Tavern.
Said we have 40-50 punters wanting a feed and some entertainment. They have a shuttle bus so if they're serious they should come to the party.
Is the tavern walking distance ?

Google maps says 2.6km.

The terrace is an option as well if it's not in use with bridal parties.

Seeing Physio and Doc this week. Will see what they have to say.

Wife is working nights that weekend so I have organised to take the kids and stay at my sisters up near Noosa.

I'd hate to miss this, considering who is attending from all over the place. I will be there but not certain of playing yet. Might be best to put me in the last group NK, in case I get really slow by the end of the round.

I won't be playing if it is carts to paths again, no way I can do that much walking.

But I have my fingers crossed!

2008 was a good example of where a non-random draw worked, it was innovative and funny, so well done to whoever did it, other years were it wasn't random weren't great.

Received this from Pelican Tav.
If they call today I won't lock anything in as we love to fly by the seat of our pants.
Any love for the Tav on Sat night ?

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your enquiry. I am sure we can accommodate you guys. Our function co-ordinator can give you a call tomorrow to discuss your options. We do have a courtesy bus available which seats 11 but we will be happy to do a few trips. We will have live entertainment from 8pm also. You can download a copy of our function menu & daily menu from our website - www.pelicanwaterstavern.com.au (http://www.pelicanwaterstavern.com.au/)

Regards

If this for whatever reason doesn't work out the Caloundra powerboat club could be worth investigating. Their meals are great, not overly expensive, drinks prices are not crazy and the staff have always been extra friendly. It is not much further away, maybe 1km and they have a courtesy bus as well. It is a big place and would easily accomondate us I would think......

Don't put me with eag's as my hand is still on the mend from the last handshake.

Ned
3rd October 2011, 11:43 AM
Just (no pun intended) for the record, I've looked at doing the draw a couple of ways based around a discussion with PeteyD.

The main priority being to keep it mixed.

Given the constructive and wanker feedback received (personal or otherwise) I've asked for the handicaps to see what that would look like against a mixed/newbie draw.

Mixed/Newbies being having visitors in each group then trying to have the other players spread so that those that they play regularly together don't at the Champs. (On the Saturday at least)

Keep in mind also based upon the first random draw I've done, it was then compared against what Shavey has done up for Coolum on the Friday to reduce the double up for two days, and on that random there was only one.

Having only received the handicaps for the players this morning, Ill look at it doing this one tonight to compare.

BrisVegas
