I want a cheap driver to experiment with. Looking for 8.5*, 1* closed and a stiff shaft.

I don't think 8.5 and closed goes together ? Try GlobalGolf on ebay.com. They have R9 8.5 pretty cheap.

I think you are right. The R9 has the technology to allow me to close the face a little. The prices look pretty good. Thanks

I have a Burrows Powersphere Draw model. Thomas Bjorn used these a few years ago on tour. Shaft is a Burrows Hotflex stiff but is really a Prolite 35s. I found it to be a great driver and only replaced it recently with a TM Superquad. The loft is a 10.5* I think but it doesn't play like that, probably more like a 9*. PM me if you want some pics.

I currently have a taylormade r9 460cc 8.5 degree stiff shaft with tool for sale.... currently it is held at eynesbury willing to accept 200 bucks for it

I have an SQ Dymo2 Str8Fit which is 8.5* stiff. This is the square headed model. Can be adjusted closed or open, upright or flat. Stiff shaft, tool & HC. It's a bit rough around the head, though.

Pics attached - sorry for the quality - it's been a long day, and the light is crap now. This makes it look a little worse than it is, but better that way than the other. Pricing - $100 + fastway ($15?)

Looks fine oz ... just not sure about square head drivers. I will see if i can hit one at drummond or somewhere and get back to you.

No worries. It's not listed anywhere.

It's uber forgiving, but lacks a little feel, IMO. Which is the trade-off you get, I suppose.
