OK people post your votes.

I was half-considering the 2010 Champs, but needed to see how work (and other) situations panned out. After it filled up so quickly, I didn't think any more about it, nor follow the updates in the thread. When reading the 2010-highs-and-lows thread, I was shocked at the 30% drop-out rate.

I suggest a $100 non-refundable deposit, based on a similar social golf club event.
If change of mind, then sell it in the pro-shop. (If illness/family/work emergency, then committee may consider a refund, depending on whether the deposit is needed to pay for the unused tee-time/room.)

ps. I'm planning to join Grunt's champs road-trip next year.

Clearly a winner here. I vote that we Eags makes all the decisions regarding what gets purchased. No arguments that way or Eag's will get on the rum and shash ya!

OK, with 96% of Oz Golfers voting for a comp fee, I think we can safely say it will be introduced next Champs.

Keep an eye out in the 1st Tee thread, and when they come up, stick your name down.

Champs won't be on again till late next year though :(

do you have to be a good player like im only playing off 21

No Ben. All good mate. If you have an AGU handicap you can play in any event (most of them are open competitions). The champs do not require even that, just a sunny disposition.

Search for "Solarman" :D

Besides, golf is meant to be fun. Who cares how you play?

I'm sure there are a few that could get together for a hit at some point!

I'll play with you at a big comp, guaranteed a good parking spot.

Not McLeod

Hope Island is a nice course

AndyP

McLeod is one of the toughest courses going around. It takes a great player to get their name on the honour board there.

A good course is one that doesn't take $100 out of your wallet/purse, unless it is truly worth it.

the average Ozgolf handicap is about 21. mostly because of Solarman, otherwise it would be about 13-14 (mean)

I'm not a fan of prizes full stop. Bragging rights are surely enough.

Just my opinion.

You and NAGA would probably be the only 2 who think that's a mean thing to say...:p

Was a decision ratified one way or another? Or did just whine like a schoolgirl until the majority lost?

I'm sure the decision is still open to debate...

So, who's keen for Champs?!

I've told Shavey to do it multiple times and as far as I'm aware he is. Have you committed any petty illegal acts or welched on a sale lately?

markTHEblake

Shavey is the organiser, he is the committee of one and the poll doesnt matter. What he decides is done.

Is this resolved yet?

Give me a few days but yes DC, there will be a deposit as opposed to a comp fee to ensure that people who make the committment are committed.
