Is anyone interested in playing at RW next week? Perhaps someone who is renewing their membership there? I haven't used my 2009-10 free round, and I'm going to try to use it on the last day available.

There's also a stableford comp on. It will be in a cart and I'll have my 6 year old with me.

AP, I would be keen for this, my membership is due to expire and I haven't used my free round as yet.

I can book our spots online, if you want. I'm limited by getting the missus to work in Paddington by 7:30a and picking her up by 4:30p (but preferably 4pm). A spot between 9 and 10 should be fine.

Are you renewing? Obviously I'm not.

Yes renewing and between 9 & 10 will be fine.
Cheers.

their website is too confusing - can't work out the cost of a visitor in a comp...

their website is too confusing - can't work out the cost of a visitor in a comp...It used to be clear. I think I have it on a sheet at home, but at a guess it should be no more than the mega member rate + $10 + comp fee (around $10) = $75. It may be less than that though.

Scratch that:

OAKLEY OPEN

The Oakley Open is still going strong for 2010. The event is a Single Stableford held every Thursday at Robina Woods and Friday at The Colonial. Friends and guests welcome, and only $65 per round includes green fees, competition, cart and lunch along with great Oakley prizes up for grabs. Don’t forget all winners are invited to the complimentary final which is hosted in November.

so that does that mean you're not playing there? - $75 was too much for me anyway...

Oh I get it now - it's a regular Thursday event.

AndyP
22nd September 2010, 10:11 PM
$65 is the cost, which is a hefty price, but Eag's and I will have free green fees.

I have a voucher too but I can't get there. If it's transferable Damo you can have it. I'll check when I can remember where the hell it is.

Choppa

Well that was easy. It was in the place I should have put it.

It looks like it's transferable but mine doesn't expire till January, so you can have it but I am going to have to charge you for it. You buy me a scotch and coke at the champs and you can have it. Lemme know.

If I can find my voucher I'm also keen. I'll be renewing too

Sorry guys, I just realised I have to use my free round at the Hyatt Coolum before Sep 30, so I will have to can this now.

AndyP
23rd September 2010, 08:39 AM
Eag's, ring Coolum and ask if they will extend it for a couple of weeks. That way you might be able to play the post-Champs round for zilch. You'll never know, if you don't ask.

Can Mega members play in this?

AndyP
23rd September 2010, 08:43 AM
It's an open comp, unlike Nudgee's "open" comps.

You mean Mega Member Scum, don't you!;)

Already tried AP, but had no luck. It has to be played on a Thur or Sun only so that leaves limited opportunities with my roster :(

Played RW yesterday, it pee'd down as we were playing the 18th (about 2.30pm). The Course is in great nick, though a little damp in spots. The greens were excellent.

Thanks anyway Choppa - been away on hols and only got back late today - consequently only now checking the forum [too many Airlie backpackers to ogle to worry about computers!] - no golf but happy to shout you a drink at the champs - would you like it served in a glass or fountain?

Been thinking about playing Sunday sick as a dog, so I'll take my last drink from the fountain thanks :)

Andy played well for 38 pts. He is in ominous form, is well handicapped and is a clear champs fave for mine.
Good luck for Sunday Hux.
The less said about my efforts the better

AndyP

Steve thought it would be a good idea for me to have a practice match before Sunday. He avoided an 8 & 7 loss; it was 8 & 6 thanks to my 3 putt on 11.

The less said about my efforts the better0 pars is disgraceful, although there was one birdie. The positive is that you can only get better. Surely?
edit: I just found a positive. You are now off 9.

1. AndyP 38pts
2. steverawlo 19pts

Thanks for chauffeuring Mitchell and me around in the cart today; I hope he wasn't too much bother. I'm quite happy with how he handled himself today.

9 days to turn it around! There is much work to do to avoid chopping it around Pelican....again.
Mitch was fine. It helps that my daughter is around a similar age and I know what they're like. I'm surprised that he kept interested for the whole 4 hours.
Glad I've gone out to 9 but it really should be 19.

AndyP

You need to actually play for the handicap to go out.

PeteyD
30th September 2010, 09:44 PM
It's the Champs Steve, you are supposed to chop it around.
