31 pts at Pelican Waters this morning. I'm shit, but after a lesson on Tuesday I'm just a little bit less shit than I was previously.

Hit 2 balls in the soup going for par 5's in 2 (3rd & 8th), with a 3 iron and a hybrid. Old swing movements will take a few range sessions to remove.

Made the mistake of pulling a 2 ball SRT out of the garage. Now I know why it has been there for 2 years. It's banned for life.

I'm a moral for the Champs. I'll either be hitting it good by then, or I'll be playing off 7.

What is this.....everyone getting lessons before the champs. Be men and just embarrass yourself like I will be doing.

Only 2 in the soup, ha...I spit in your general direction. I'm stocking up on 100 pks of AAA balls at Squizzys.

Got to the stage that when I see water, I just pick up the ball and toss it in.

Take a careful look at the winning scores from previous champs.

Another promising round that got away in the end. Monthly medal at Reddie Bay, finished with 85/71 (40/45).

6/18 GIR
6/14 FIR
31 putts

I was even par after 5 holes and just slowly leaked it away after that. Nothing worse than a 6 on the card, but did not make an up and down all day. Another 0.3 off the HC though.

01/09/10, Nelsons Bay GC, Stableford (& 2BBB).

8/14 effective fairways.
3/18 effective approaches.
3/10 up and down successes.
36 putts.
------------------------
3 pars.
8 bogeys.
7 others.

Score: 47-47-94 stab 27pts (Par 36-65-72 ACR 70). 2BBB Score: 40pts with partner scoring 39pts.
H/cap Change: No change.
Last 5 comp rounds: Played to 17, 17, 17, 19, DQ(24).

Shithouse. So much went wrong, that there was even an "effective" airswing in there (hit tree root, but not the ball) and I couldn't even remember to hand in the card. I'm not even going to bother trying to figure out why it was so bad, and I'll just wipe it from the memory bank.

Next round: Maybe tomorrow or monthly medal at Wally Park on Saturday, or Virginia next Tuesday. Not sure, but the golf is happening more often.

9 holes of practise this morning @ Grose River GC yielded 22 points (+8 41, par 33). 3 pars, 5 bogeys, 1 other.

For the first time in a long time my short game was working well. I put the ball a bit further forward in my stance and it yielded a lot more consistency. Shame that my lead up shots weren't the greatest at times, and I missed a few makeable putts.

Not like you to miss a few makeables :-P

Sad but true...however I escaped without any 3 putts. 16 putts in total.

First round of club champs. 81 gross for 74 nett. Only one silly double and a few missed putts. Birdied 2 of the par 3's. No 3 putts. Hit it pretty well, nice to be using my own sticks after last week's shocker!

12/14 fairways
7 Greens in reg
31 putts
2 birdies
6 pars
9 bogeys
1 double

Monthly Medal @ Cairns GC today..

Drove like a moron....Other than that ball striking was pretty good... 19 Putts on the first 9 though and 4 x Double or worse resulted in 85 / 77

FIR 4
GIR 8
PARS 10
Bogeys 4
Other 4 (3 x doubles, 1 x triple)
Putts 34 19 / 15 (Switched to cross handed grip for the second 9, felt like crap but, seemed to work)

Ah well, work enforced 6 week break from golf coming soon...

Monthly Medal at Cairns GC this morning with Haysey & Solarman. Fortunately we were 2 groups in front of Outcast so he didn't get the opportunity to hit up on us. ;)

I was reasonably happy with my game today. I made a few rank swings, but also some quite good ones. Short game was reasonably sharp, and I made some good putts. I am a little annoyed, however, at leaving more than one birdie putt short in the heart.

79 gross
71 nett

8 fairways
5 greens
28 putts

2 birdies
8 pars
7 bogies
1 double

Mate, the way I was hitting off the tee you would have been safest in the group directly ahead in the fairway... Two groups ahead potentially put you at risk on some holes...:-)

Playing my first ever Club Champs.

Slopfest continued with very wet conditions but at least I didn't get rained on. Putting was dreadful - just couldn't get the ball to the hole.

Net 77.

For ?

For years I have played as many Club Opens as possible, the only one I haven't played is Georgetown and Mt Garnet.

It was expected to a certain degree when on the FNQ and GQ stuff, but even though I am not on either anymore, I enjoy the the small Club Opens.:smt030

30 points at Camden Lakeside today, but it was a good 30 if that is possible. It was very, very windy to start with, and a few players didn't turn up due to the strength of the wind. But it eased a bit to a playable 2 club strength after about 5 holes, and I played alright from that point on.
