Looking around the traps to purchase one of these and have come across a few variations which I would like some advice on.

Obviously i'm steering clear of produce from the great peoples republic on this one hence a lot of the bay is off limits.

Firstly

Is this rangefinder kak?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Golf-Laser-Rangefinder-Length-Master-LM-1000-CX-/320580601469?pt=AU_Golf_Accessories#ht_1232wt_1138

it seems like the best non bushnell non super expensive option i have found so far.

Secondly this seems pretty cheap for a bushnell brand new but possibly is an older model?

So yeah, any info on the pro's and con's appreciated, never so much as raised one to my eye in anger.

Why not just get a sureshot or sonocaddie, less hard work surely and unless you're a scratch marker probably just as effective.

Have not read any reviews on the RangeFinder Length Master as yet, they have been advertising on ISG for a while. Here is their site;

That Bushnell model is available from the Australian distributor for $290;

Not sure it has the Pin Seeker feature though, which is critical imo.

Valid point however there are two issues at play here for me.

Firstly my club is under heavy reno's and is not mapped and is a punish to map because it's all going to change.

Secondly and more importantly 3 is that I practice a lot more than I play. I can use this to finally get a feel on consistent ranges for all the clubs in my bag, especially on the short stuff inside of 120 and work out different shots.

Just checked on Amazon..wtf

http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Yardage-Sport-Realtree-Rangefinder/dp/B00192M1TQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1282694032&sr=8-3

Is there some mystery here? It might look like a hawaiian shirt but I don't really care.

There are some (non Camo) Yardage Pros on US Ebay for less than that. As I mentioned before, I don't think the Yardage Pro has Pin Seeker hence why they are cheaper. They are primarily designed for hunting I think. Off to golf now, but will post some links and some more info you later.

Yeah petey I meant the price. I'll check US Ebay then. Postage is obviously going to be a killer but cheapest brand new over here is 270 before postage.

Righto - reality check.

1. Your not a homeless bum
2. You have a good job and enjoy your golf... a lot.
3. The scope you buy today is going to last you about 5-8 years. (Think cost per wear . . .)

Stump up some cash you tight arse and get the one that proper golfers use.

In fact - buy me one why your at it, anyone else want to get in on a group buy ?

It is not the arse tightness. I would freely spend all my money on golf however I have vowed to stick to a tight slush fund only fiscal policy from here on in since my spending is not really proportional to my talent. (it is however proportional to my lack).

That's OK.

You spend your time wandering around your house looking for your testicles wondering what happened to your life whilst letting other people trample over your dreams, the rest of us will have really cool golf stuff and will always know the exact yardage over THAT bunker and to the pin.

I think I'll grab one without pinseeker technology and let my child bride and toddler eat meat at least twice a week as a compromise.

Also as long as we are at it...

Virge have you not had the non pin seeker one for quiet a while?

Just as an aside. The shipping from the states for the Bushnell Yardage Pro 450 if purchased from Amazon and hustled direct to the door is 72 bucks making it 228 aussie dollars all up if anyone is wondering.

I'm still on the fence.
