oh please please try a cobra s0-1 pro S model.....not the d which is 2 deg open.....the Cobta s9-1 is low spin....and I mean stupidly low spin.....

its an all black head.....and they can be had for 150-180 on USA ebay....can get a head for 120....

you seriously wont be dissaointed with this driver

I had the very same question in my head...I play on windy as hell links course......where low spin off the drier is a must ...I borrowed it from freind ad he said i could buy it if i wanted to.....sold!!

Im getting reshafted this week with axivcore black.....to get some height on it

rant over chow for now

Put yourself clean out of your misery for months and nab a SFTP. They sit close enough to square.

Cobra X Speed...not the X Speed Pro D, the original one, looks like crap but is a great square (they say 1 degree open) driver...this one: http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/15823-cobra-x-speed-driver/

This would put you out of my reach.

Lucas, I'm impressed with your repertoire of excuses to buy drivers. Can't wait to read the next one.;)

If you can stand the noise, I still reckon the original Sumo2 driver was the best fairway finder.

do you want suggestions that are guaranteed to be square, or offer square but with a tolerance of +/-1 degree, or offer square and hope nobody checks?

I love my new G15 Lucas. You can have a hit of it if you like although it may launch a bit high for you!

Pete

Genuine Voodoo shaft is great and is .335!!

Get another 8.5* R9 460 with the right shaft and set the face angle to your desire!

Thanks pete, that is on my to do list :)

So a .335 tip wasn't most important? It is only a shim

The G15's are quite commonly .5 closed too if you are pedantic. Tolerances can come into it too as MTW mentioned. So hand picking or asking the Q is prolly the go. A really dirty ho would get it digitally square from Ping LOL

Crap, i just though it would be .335 :(

Still only a shim tho. Ping's .350 is actually pretty sloppy (read oversize) and if i remember right they have a bushing ferrule type thang factory standard as well. I've had no probs with a standard shim on it's own tho.

hit the super fast tp and was not blown away, but the shaft was really sloppy for my mind. Could see the potential in the head but :?

Before i'd even hit mine with HD6 i pulled it and took 1/2" off the tip. Playing at 46 with a slightly longer than standard BBGM made it a no brainer. Peeps were saying it played a little soft on top of all that. I'd never control it or center it at anyway 46, eeeeek.

I would swear my G15 is a .335 and it doesn't look to have a shim! The face could be a hair closed but the driver is not a hook machine. Just silly straight!

Ping has been putting a lot of .335 shafts in their custom builds of late. Guaranteed it's .350. A lot of the counterfiet G15's are .335.

I've got a Version 1 Burner TP head listed in the pro shop, sits square to slightly open.
Low spin, low launch, hot melt etc etc.

This G15 probably was custom built as it come from the Ping Tour van for a mini tour player in the states.

I'm certain it is .335 as my other driver is a .350 and this is thinner.

Pete

someone here asked me awhile ago to report back when I got my cobra s9-1 pro S (9.5 loft) re-shafted.....re-shafted it with a UST axivcore black 68 gram reg.....(had nvs stiff in it before)

the UST axivcore is great...easier to get some height on it....the black is low tourqe (3.0) but responsive tip....

really good length...had it shafted at 45.5

happy days ahead......
