peaking between World Cup's is the national sport in NZ

Yep, a score of 6 - 3 or 12 - 9 is so exciting.

Yep, a score of 6 - 3 or 12 - 9 is so exciting. To be fair a 6-3 scoreline may very well be an exciting game to someone that knows the intricacies of the sport.

I'm not one of those people. I'd sooner watch a game of AFL.

They are certainly great to watch at the moment. But as Moe says, they are peakinga year early! :D

Yep, 3 point penalty kicks and drop goals kill the sport.

Australia won't be successful until the forward pack develops some mongrel  in the forward pack time after time after time. The one in five games when we dominate is when the forwards are on song. Our back line is equal to anything around but, as a weapon, is dependant on how dominant the forwards are.

And it would be a massive mistake if the ARU let Quade Cooper go. I wonder if his contract is up soon. Might be trying to milk the cow.

matty
13th August 2010, 07:21 AM
.....and another thing. The All Blacks can get stuffed. Dirty, cheating bastards. Will be good to watch you lose in the semi's again!

Cooper apparently has an offer on the table from the ARU which is crap. Still, given his criminal past, he'd be a good fit for NRL ?

Ha, thought his contract must be up.

Cooper reminds me a bit of Larkham, just the way he moves and his unpredictability. He could be great for the Wallabies for a long time.

His contract is up. HE has agreed to stay with the Reds, but apparently nothing is signed yet.

3 Point penalty goals and drop goals do not kill the game. Cheating to give away the penalty is what does it.

What world are you guys living in ?? I haven't seen a drop goal in two years FFS ???? And it is always the Yarpies who bring that rubbish into the game because they can't do anything else !

As for Penalties... again - the game has changed this year. I think there were two for the entire game last weekend !!

Exactly - should suit Tony WoodCOCK perfectly. How was that cowardly hit from behind for a low dog act ??

The game has changed lads - it is worth a look again, even the scrums are better, and Quade is not going anywhere, just drumming up some media coverage.

Last question - who do you kick out that awesome team to make a place for Sonny Bill ?

macjackass

I think money bill will be warming the bench for some time.

MAZA68

He can warm the bench and come on in the last twenty, and smash a few wallabies

Yeah I know - but hat was 11 years ago, and we keep getting beaten by crap Pommie sides.

PeteyD

true. Who is going to win the next one? All Blacks will choke at home, way too much pressure. We are building, and with some stronger forwards returning not too bad, will need to be at full strength up front though. Saffas can't play in NZ. Ireland to win their first one?

All I can say is that if it isn't us - I hope it is the Kiwi's.

And that this world cup will be a good advertisment for the game unlike the last one.

Excellant win by the All Blacks to beat the Boks in front of 94 0000+, scoring two tries in the last 2 minutes.

Be interestng to see how the wallabies go in South Africa,
Playing to not come last, think it will be last though,
has a familiar ring to it.

read in the paper that the wallabies haven't won in Sth Africa for 47 years. pisser

I'm putting a meagre wager on 'em. Not often you get a chop at the Aussies paying fours.

Might need a new paper Fraser, reasonably sure we won in Durban in 2008

We certainly did. I remember, because my sister's bf at the time was a crazy saffa straight outa Durban.

For the record, we won there in 2000 as well.

I think you might find it is (JoBurg?) Loftus Field we haven't won at for ages, where the test is this week.

altitude, that excuse has passed its use by date now. They play enough games there now with Super Rugby and Tri Nations to get use to it.

well there you go, never believe everything you read.
it was the sunday age which only has a token interest in rugby,

PeteyD

Definately threw one away there. Couple of terrible errors at key times.

However it was nice to see a game without some turds covered in black lying all over the ball to slow it down and kill the game.

MAZA68
12th September 2010, 07:07 PM
Another one "thrown" away by the wobblies, the game goes for 80 minutes not 60 as they found out.

macjackass

The bad thing for Australia is that the all blacks only turned up for the last 20 minutes and it was still enough.

Lack of killer instinct, but learning it from the best. Still building to next year, when we get a fair number of players back from injury. Weipu had the bet game I have seen him play.

God those European refs are a pain in the arse. That welsh idiot that ran the boks game should be taken away and locked up, never to set foot on a rugby field again!

Solid performance against the weaker of the Home Unions (Scotland), SBW had a great game with several off loads leading to 7 pointers.
