Aldila vs proto or V2 or Voodoo..hmm stiff or reg..hmm weight...hmm confused....HELP!

OK I play off 7...swing speed is for driver 95-98

play in windy weather...driver cobra s9-1 pro s...currently using nvs 60 HL shaft stiff

want slightly lower ball flight.....

my bad shot is a block...yet I mosltly set up for a fade ...try to hit draw sometimes if the wind is helping

ok I know the V2 plays quite firm...not sure aout the vs proto or voodoo...

shaft length is 45...have used 46....

my swing speed is right obn the border of stiff and reg...age 40 and err rising

build 6ft 0" and weight 94kg..strong but fit

any advice help from shaft gurus or just anyone is welcome

Dave i play the VS proto 60 Reg and love it. i swing at 90-95 and play this shaft at 44&1/4" in an imix. Like you i find i am often on the border of REG/Stiff.
I also play a Fubuki Tour 63 Reg both give a nice low flight, i prefer the VS over a V2, but that is just me. I would say you could probably handle the VS in Stiff given you are a faster swing than me, i load up the VS without too much effort.

hmm cheers....I thinking maybe a 60 in stiff and make it 45 3/4 inches...or 65 reg ...longer stiff will play softer....or shorter reg/

hmm used stiff last month and shot 75-77-80 in really windy tough conditions (won the gross twice)...stiff shaft means lower ball flight with less distance...reg means higher longer.....

might try vs proto reg and go from there.....

maybe should just keep what i have got which is softer stiff :-s :o

really ? maybe you just chipped and putted well ? I use stiff in my driver and reg in everything else, the real differences at the weights you are talking would be minimal anyway and subject to the type of shaft.

ok which plays firmer V2 or Vs proto

the Vs comes in weights of 60-65-75 80...I think the original ALdila is 60-70-80 and ones "made for" are the 65

the V2 comes in at 57,65,76 grams....they dont have "made for" shafts to the best of my knowledge

why am In tinkering....well thats what golfers do to improve...tinker with swing - tinnker with gear

have been told by few people also that swing speed isnt the only determinnning factor in choosing flex for driver .....what do others think of that?

V2 stiff definitely feels a little stiffer than the stiff Voodoo. The SVS6 Voodoo is a great shaft (similar specs to the VS Proto and a little higher launch) and well worth trying out.
