so i hear some scuttlebutt it's 'paper' or something for the first anniversary :)

i brought in the local paper this morn for the wifey...does that count?

Seriously though it seems like only yesterday i was scotting around in the comfiest dress known to mankind (although sarongs come close...as do lungi's but i digress).

And for the gift to me darling went out and bought me a ass-load of belgian beer...it brought a tear to my eye.....when she told me she would have gotten more but couldn't carry it :D but she couldn't secure an Bassett's jelly babies so 50% there.....

Luckily we're off to Monsoon down the valley tonight, for those who haven't been before it's got the best belgian beer selection and was around way before the beer cafe stole my dream....

i have fond memories of a company dinner there when i went through the entire list of beers and then half way again for the total of about $140 just on my own lonesome....ahh expense accounts....i was shattered but happy.

huzzah! more beer, more beer more beeeer more beer...more beeeeeeer...and some duck!

wish someone had told me the clock resets on marriage, it's been 9 years and 8 months technically...ripped off!

Well done, congrats. Eclipsed the first year myself a few weeks back. I bought the missus a Mont Blanc pen on the flight back from Singapore - it's not exactly 'paper', but she gets to mark paper from here until eternity with it.

And who said Singa's was cheap?? Apparently their sales start next month, but to go there any other time, it's more expensive - even when you factor in the exchange rate!! Ended up buying the pen at the QANTAS Sky-shop - it was the cheapest deal!

I'm in my 14th year, although you tend to lose track.

I thought the 1st anniversary gift was 'Putter'.

Of course, it also could be a Wood, but I don't want to get into that.

We forsaw the "forgetting" problem - so we picked a date easily remembered - first date 23/6, married - 23/2.

Brad never forgets - but I don't think he's ever bought me anything other than a card.

y'see i count the time from day one, we've lived together since the start so coming up to a decade is the more important thing for me, not the official part....

as i might have posted before i'm not into the marriage thang really since it doesn't mean much to me personally as I am commited in the relationship regardless ;)

Got together on August 27th 1995 'officially' after dating living on residence at Uni (ie. spent 17 hours in bed...no filthy thoughts please twas just being in each others presence and sealed a few things)

We wanted to do the wedding over again so the family and friends could come to a pseudo-ceremony but just can't afford it right now.....so maybe the August date might be a goer...Lyndal knows pretty much all the ISG/Ozgolf/Teamfore guys/gals in my life in my 5 years of golf by 'asociation' and reading posts etc so it would be fun.

eg. she knows Jarro the best methinks! ;) :o :P

oooh fancy schmancy...tis not the pen but the insert y'know :D

I actually said this year after buying lyndal a lovely claw set .4 carat diamond pendant and excellent chain that i expect something golf related for my bday now.

I saved up the pocketmoney she had been giving me whilst unemployed and splurged big time so i want a r580xd tour or something or that $-intensive calibre

we linked our to our 27th August 1995 date.

The wedding was on April 27th 2004, so 8 year and 8 months together, makes it easy to remember both...we're lazy like that and i am shabby with dates.

we use the monthly ones occassionally as an excuse to eat out using the entertainment book, only way we can afford to normally...since i prefer to do my gourmet cooking thang anyways she lways gets a high quality meal! :D

what the one with me holding the massive $17 hoegaarden glass at Monsoon after downing it all?

nah, twas too blurry :D

truth be told i don't go for the mega-hoe, tis a nice starter beer on the palete but there are other much finer witbiers out there, a nice dunkelweizen or weizenbock like an schneider aventinus or doppelbock....drooooool.......just can't find what i need anymore given the price....

where's Rob Wucherpfennig when you need him jarro!

My marriage day was Sept 3 (the anniv of WW2 starting) in 1988 (the year Empir Rose won the cup and a damn sweet sweep....ahhh..Belguim beer...belgium beer)

..so whats that make it...17th this year....whats that..Titanium ?

i made the first titanium.....my ring is white gold and titanium so she don't look too purty on my hairy finger :D

i wanted the all titanium inlay one but the wifey thought it looked too casual...

i tamed it down a little last night, the quality of their beer service has gone down the tubes at monsoon since i was there last.

the belgian list has shrunk, i couldn't get a westmalle to have with my duck :(

the Orval yon lass brought out came with a Duvel glass....sigh....
should have stuck with a forbidden fruit with it...or maybe just a duvel to get the right glass! :D

funny story about hoe's verboden vrucht from my main beer man michael jackson (no, the BEER MJ, not that other dude) ;) :

"Forbidden Fruit's label is modelled on Ruben's painting Adam and Eve. When the brewery tried to export to the US, the beer was banned because the couple are nude. "This is not pornography," protested the brewery, "it is a great work of art from our country."

"Yes," replied the American Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, "but Adam should be handing her an apple -- not a beer."

classy stuff!

Yeah - he made a quick dash to the florists and a quick phone call to a local restaurant.... so yeah, I let him get away with it  (he felt much worse because I was so cool about it, I can assure you.... )
