how far can you throw a golf ball?

how far can you throw your golf ball and what ways could we all improve the distance of our throws?

I usually find I can get it out there a lot further if I wait till my playing partners are in the bushes.

You would have better responses if you change "ball" to "club".

I actually tried this whilst manning the 14th at Lakelands (101m from memory off the front markers), the little par three over the waterfall. We gave players the opportunity to either hit the green with a shot or with a throw to double their money.

Let's just say, only a few made it with the throw. And trying to do it too many times without warming up can hurt!

Many years ago I played the front nine at Wallacia GC by throwing the ball only. Ended up with 81. The hardest part is getting it in the hole, throwing the ball wasn't so bad.

I'll have to ask my youngest son...he spent a few sessions with the Australian cricket team several years back teaching them how to throw a cricket ball.
