i need some help , i played on thursday and for some reason my driver sounded different and i noticed a loss in distance . Its a bridgestone j33 r 460 . The pro had a look and couldnt notice any cracks so he put the head in the sink filled with water and no bubbles came up so he said he doesnt know whats wrong with it . Club is around 16 months old but has only seen around 10 games due to me not getting out much . Is there any other way to check if its cracked or do you suggest send it back to bridgestone .
Thanks

Did you take the headcover off?

Maybe its the shaft? If the shaft was split it'd have the same effect right? Might look at pulling the shaft maybe?

Putting it into water won't tell you if its cracked unless there is positive pressure inside. It's not a tyre tube.
You can get dycheck (sp?) which is used to crack-test metals or take it to someone who specialises in Non Destructive Testing and get them to check it.

I had a similar issue with my Titleist 907 D1 last year.... Kept playing with it and it came good again! I think it was mostly psychological with me.

Maybe it had a cold, or flu.

So you know a little about NDT.

If this happens to anyone in Perth then get in touch and we can have a play at work as we are a NDT equipment supplier and have the odd piece of test equipment laying around.

Now yow have me thinking about testing the face thickness of some drivers.
