P Lonard just shot 62 in the first round of this event, 9 under including 2 bogeys

That's some serious golf, only 5 pars in the round, leading by 2 at this stage.

I still maintain that he's one of the best ball-strikers going around. He's got a solid game. It's just a matter of time before he starts racking up wins over there. He just needs to get the monkey off his back.

Well, 7 bogey's in a round of 74, typical of the game rather than the player, perfect one day, bites you on the bum the next

What will give tomorrow :?: , looks like Darren Clarke is running away to hide, currently -5 on his second round and leading by 5.

Lonard back to the lead by one over Clarke   at 11 under Pamps in third at 6 under.

Apparently the last few years the winner has come with a last day charge, really it should be out of Clarke and Lonard for the title 8) 8)

putt was no more than 8 feet :?it is from about 3 or 4 feet in he is using it, apparently he had sooo many 3 putts in the Masters, sounds a bit yippy, he might have to read some Langer books

HE'S WON IT! Maiden win for Lonard. He fell over the line, but par on the last was more than enough?!

Extraordinary! Clarke Doubles the 72nd to lose. And lost probably $100k doing it too.

O'Hern had -2 to race up the leaderboard!

Watched the replay last night. Wow.....what a comedy of errors the last few holes. So good to see Lonard win.
:D But hey - I don't know why all the chicks go wild over him. It's not like he has a firm, tight butt, full kissable lips and shoulders you could get lost under and those smouldering eyes that seduce you with every look.
Oh...and back to the golf....he plays real good too

That's the luxury of leading by 5/6 shots into the final day i guess. Did anyone watch it? Very few low scores, but it looked sunny and i've read that it was 'gusty' - barely conditions to destroy a PGA Tour field?

wadkins and co kept talking abt the wind....but it sure didn't look that windy on the course...

the only time it was a real "drama" was the 17th...that was the only flag I saw on the back nine that was moving....even the flag on the 18th was limp...

it seemed like Lonard didn't really know what to do...but Clarke...for all his experience, and TWO wgc wins under his belt, that was really poor...

how clarke ever gets a mention as a major contended (or even a roughie) is beyond comprehension...

must be those pants...

You forgot the strong enveloping arms that could wrap themselves around both of us.... My hubby thinks I am crazy, actually so does my boss, and my mum.... hmm a pattern is emerging here.

On a golfing note..... Good onya Lonsy.... i knew you could do it, with one under the belt, the rest will flow.....

Not only has Lonard risen to World Number 25, but Nick O'Hern went from 33 or so to 29. His top 10 (9th) pozzy gives him entry into the Houston Open (he's not competing), took him to nearly $500k winnings, and the PGA Tour has offered a temporary membership which guarrantee's starts on the US Tour for the remainder of the season. =D> [Note - i don't know if that means exemptions for ALL tournaments, or selected tourney's until Nov/Dec 05]

Wonder if he'll head back to Europe, or stay in the US and try and secure his Tour card for '06 :?:
