Fellow Ozgolfers of a horticultural bent let us know what you've been growing. I've had three bunches of Banana's (Ladyfingers) this year and about 10 avacados. The avacados I'm particularly happy about because the tree is only a couple of years old, it's a Pinkerton, if anyone is interested in the variety and I also have a Wurtz, Rincon and just planted a Hass. I've also got a nice herb bed started with rosemary, thyme, basil, celery and some strawberries-got a nice crop out of these which pleased the kids. I also have some finger limes and lychee trees on the go, although both of these seem to be slow growers. My vegetable beds had a god crop of cucumbers, zuchinni, tomatos, eggplants and corn although they are currently empty and I am getting them ready for some winter crops.

I am just beginning to put in some vege beds, and looking to convert the kids Fort thing into a chook pen. We have had most success so far with Tomatoes and carrots. Where did you get the bananas from?

Pete
DPI rules limit the numbers and types of bananas you can have in your backyard and you have to get a permit to grow them, mine were already in my backyard.;)

OK will have to look into it then. DPI website has heaps of info. I should have a Banana area ready for September. Sweet!

I've just bought a new house, and a chainsaw. :)

Actually, while we're at it, does anyone know a good tree lopper?

I just asked the missus what's in our patch, that has been put in since we changed around the yard.

A tomato plant going out of control.
Spinach
Broccoli
Basil
Chives
and probably other things that I don't eat.

Are there any threads that this should merge with?
