I've heard this place does the nicest textured milk in Perth:

Is this true? Anyone know where their "single origin" milk comes from?

I can see it now, a vibrant meeting place filled with:

- Hippies with thick-rimmed glasses who are there for the Ryan Adams tunes
- Unpublished writers with macbooks
- Coffee snobs
- Arty types wearing berets
- Lesbians
- and the occasional OzGolf WAnker to completely ruin the ambience.

Hope it goes well. :)

One word adlo...SHAVE !!!!! That's why they got the 2021 model, cos that's when he will next trim the whiskers :-s

Golfnut obviously didn't read the blog did he..."something other than espresso" !!

Not that espresso is bad, it'll be my first order when I get there, I judge a good coffee place not by "the hairs on his chinny chin chin", but by how good they make an espresso. It's amazing how many places can't make a decent one.

It's like Gordon Ramsay when he tests a chef, he tells them to make an omelette !!

Ah....No, I did read the Blog thank you, hence the reference to the shop having a "niche" in the market......didn't want to refer to it as a "Coffee Shop", sounds like something out of the set of Seinfeld which I'm sure Lowdown, is not.

Surprised you don't open on weekends adlo - is the city too quiet on non-working days?

The decor looks pretty swish in the pics too. I'm guessing the wives have all the talent there?

adlo
10th April 2010, 06:41 PM
BIG TUNA, a tribute to one of my favourite one liners from the US Office. And it's not "that's what she said".

Perth, outside of the malls on the weekend is pretty quiet. Plus, we want a life.

The decor was very much a team effort. We had some initial ideas from a shop fitout interior designer, then it morphed as we built it. My brother and I built pretty much everything in the shop with our Dad. Our uncle did all the metal work including bar stools, mirror frames etc. My wife is a graphic designer and took care of the graphics, website etc. We are pretty happy with the end results.

We thank our lucky stars that we decided to open in the CBD instead of the suburbs. Mon to Fri is the only way to go, I am so much happier for it. We are putting in the hours Mon to Fri, but knowing you have a weekend means a lot.

This is so true Vee.....mate of mine closed up his mechanical business in Dec 09 for the same reason plus some non-payment issues, by the end he'd just had enough and couldn't wait to get out. I don't want to fall into the same trap either...I'm happy to put in hours mid-week, like stay late for client pickups post work etc, and go in earlier when the need arises. When busy, I'm also happy to come in on Sat AM (closed doors) and knock off some club work for a couple of hours if need be (only had to do that TWICE).

But at this stage I have NO PLANS to be open Saturdays or Sundays...most guys would be out on the course themselves anyway !!!!
