5978Ok, I'm not sure how readily available Testers enamel model paint is in Australia but any model paint will do, or if you want to save a buck then just get fingernail polish (I've done this many times), Acetone and a rag. After removing the old paintfill from the area with acetone and after the acetone has dried then fill the siteline with the paint using a small paint brush or even a toothpick, you don't have to be neat at this point. Give the paint atleast a good hour to dry and then get your rag and apply a small bit of acetone to the rag and tidy up the areas that you don't want the paint to be, viola your done, simple and affordable.

Pictured is an example of the paintfill that I did on a TPM 12 that I restored.

Mike has the Anser 2 with melted wheel-balancing weights.

This is a 'cover version' of the Scotty Cameron's notchback prototype. Pictures of the notchback whetted my appetite. Carlton Draught, an angle grinder and some lead flashing completed the job.

Legally, this could be sold as a Scotty garage model, as it was customised in the garage of Scotty (the Sydney computer programmer).

Definitiely a one-off. Haven't been game to get into a Carlton Draught shout since.

ps. I love the irony of a SC concept being applied to a Ping putter.

Had to be in the early 1990's Mike. Looking at the list of major winners and knowing that Tom Kite was one of the last to convert to metal woods, I would have to pick his US Open win at Pebble. I may be wrong .

Hahaha...I almost said Davis Love III when he won the '97 PGA but remembered he won that with a Titileist 975D. I know Love retired His Cleveland classic persimmon during 1997, didn't give Langer a thought as he went to a metal driver in 1991. Good one Mike.

Well I never. It was Lee Trevino (http://golf.about.com/cs/historyofgolf/p/timeline1984.htm) in 1984.

Lee trevino wins the PGA Championship, giving him two wins each in the PGA and the U.S. and British Opens. At the PGA, Trevino plays a TaylorMade metal driver, becoming the first golfer to win a major using the club that revolutionized golf.

I have a Mizuno driver with a graphite head (model EL) which was my gamer before I bought a TaylorMade metal driver. This Mizuno came in two models - a high and a medium face head - mine is the medium. Actually it might make a good 3-wood as it is 43 inches.

It was common practice by major club manufacture companies in the mid 1960's to have nylon type heads instead of persimmon or laminated wood in their lesser models. I have a set of Wilson Crest heads which were made in 1965.

Three pages of putters is a about right for an OzGolf thread.
For half the members, the putter is just another club, and the other half are logged into ProShop, looking to buy another club.

The search function works well here, and there is a good 15 page thread about Lajosi putters, which Kari has provided a lot of pictures of his newer work.

ps. If you want to know about Aldo's Bettinardi, then it is probably in a 'Who wants a game at Binningup tomorrow?' or 'For Sale Aldila NV-75' thread. ;)
