The hardest part about using a chipper is having to tell your parents you're gay.

What henno said. Can only be followed by bowls.

The Cleveland Niblicks look okay (never tried on though) and seem versatile. For a classic you could track down a Ping Chipo.

I tried low irons and seem to hit them to hard, trying to not use my 64 degree vokey as it does encourage few duffs.
So Chippers = Gay? will have to rethink that idea

Get a short game lesson, much better way to spend the money. Chippers are awful.

Using a 64 degree wedge for chipping is madness. Unless the shot really calls for it, which would be 1-in-20 at best.

Are you crazy? A pitching wedge is for pitching not chipping.

Feel free to use it.

It is character building as everyone and I mean everyone will take the piss out of you.

You may as well turn up with pink shafted clubs that have "Jesus Saves" stickers on them.

Even Solarman admitted defeat in the end. I think the chipper disappeared a week or two after that thread.

He couldn't handle the aspersions being cast on his manhood any longer:wink:

Chippers belong in a Fish & Chippery, all other versions and uses are bizarre and unnatural!

That's great, but if all of a sudden you had trouble chipping with it, would you get a chipper? No, you'd do what other chopper does and reach for the 8-iron.

Chip with a hybrid instead. Everyone will think your creative, rather than gay.

Buy a book on chipping. Many around such as Stan Utey, Dave Pelz etc. Choose one methodology and stick with it.

The chipper seems like a waste of a club. It is a putter with a 7 iron loft.
