View Full Version : R9 460 Question

I am looking at purchasing an R9 460 Driver after hitting it at drummond golf and liking it.

Sorry for the silly question but just wanted to confirm what people in the shops are telling me is correct. According to Drummond, adjusting a 9.5* club head to the 'neautral upright' setting is the same as playing a 10.5* head. Is that correct?

Also, does more loft equal more of a closed face angle? According to the taylormade website when you adjust the club to neutral upright it actually shows the ballflight change to more of a draw.

$300 would be the max you would pay for one IMO.

Awesome thanks mate. Can't believe Drummond wanted $450!

I might have a look on Ebay & see what I can find. Getting from the US might be my best option.

Unless someone has got one for sale? :)

It does, NU setting increase the loft and promotes a higher soft draw.
Did for me,check the website.

Incorrect

N and NU are the same loft but different lie angles. closing the face, the L settings will increase the loft, and vice versa when opening the face.

So does that mean setting it to L - it plays exactly like a 10* or 10.5* would play?

Ball flight indicates soft draw, as i said!

Played an 8.5 460 at upright on the weekend, very difficult to get going right at all. In fact I hit a lot of pulls.

These gimmicks never seem to work for me, always neutral ! Waste of ****ing time buying the suckers !

Thats why i offloaded mine Pete, the Burner TP is the way to go!:smt013
Although it did help me narrow my shaft search down quite a bit.:smt038

It promotes a draw because it's a more upright lie angle. Doesn't change the loft.

I would seriously question whether an upright lie angle for a driver would promote a draw, an iron sure, but a driver no. But I'm sure there are more qualified club experts on here that could provide an answer.

Just, apparently it does. But I can't do the long reply as I lack the concentration at the moment ;)

I paid $320 brand new from Golf World, so if you go and push them a lil bit they CAN do it. whether they will or not is a different story.

Wait a couple more weeks until the Supertri & Burner Superfast drivers are officially released. Then the previous models should be even cheaper.
