I've decided to start to tinker with stuff. Do any of you club-making gurus have any surplus gear you want to offload on the cheap? Specifically a shaft puller and swingweight scale, but will also take offers on "easy to come by" items such as heat guns etc.

What sort of dollars do these go for MTB?

If Henno doesn't want this, I will look into it. Are they easy to use?

Doesn't chmod work with golf gear?

I have to admit, that made me chuckle.

i know where you might get a loft/lie machine?

That's probably the last on my list of "items to procure", but might be interested anyway. How much and where is it?

check out www.golfworks.com (http://www.golfworks.com), they sell them. They seem easy to use having watched a couple of blokes do it. but i wouldnt.

Gary at www.aussiecustomgolf.com.au (http://www.aussiecustomgolf.com.au) has a spare one, as he bought a tour version (that bends putters as well, or something funky like that)
I dont know what the price is, he just asked one time if Iknew anyone that would want one. i wouldnt be surprised what else he has there, as he has been replacing a lot of his gear with electronic or hydraulic tools.

Good point. I'll get the experts to do loft/lies.

No shaft pullers sitting around being unused?

I'm thinking of getting one of these anyway: http://www.theextractor.com/

Thoughts?

Henno I made one (shaft puller) by attaching a jig to a standard bench vise, have pulled numerous shafts with it.

Also heat guns go for about $25 at Bunnings and get your self a small gas bottle or blow tourch, they aren't dear either.

I got one of these, but haven't needed to use it yet.

You only need the shaft extractor for graphite. Ive made 2 of them. MK1 worked moderately well but MK2 is a ripper. Ive had 100% success rate so far. It is made from a car jack and a fabricated frame.

Thanks for the generous offer Pete, but perci has offered to lend me his. Seeing as he lives 30 seconds from my work it makes sense to borrow his.

I still want to get my own though, for the sake of not having to constantly bother perci for his. That Rogers one that Ned Kelly linked to looks alright.

Perci's is a ripper, you won't want one of the others once you used his!

I know. Unfortunately I can't justify the 400-500 clams to buy one.

does anyone have a detailed diagram of the above? might see if my brother can make me one. Dont mean to hijack your thread henno but if I have a broken shaft to extract do I need to use the above or just apply some heat and pull out by hand?

Just heat it and pull it out by hand doesn't matter if you **** the tip of a broken shaft.

Mate of mine was a guru at making stuff and he reckons that he could replicate my gadget and even improve it............but he PO's to Canada for 12 months.

I can take some detailed fotos and send them to you if you like.

The same guy is now doing the car jack version and for around $160 Aussie you could get it sent here.
