i watched this final round this morning and it was fantastic golf

Both Tiger and Phil really deserve a pat on the back for such an entertaining final round to the tournament.

I have to say, i was kinda hoping Phil would win .... and he probably should have ... but Tiger played some amazing golf ... including hitting the Par 5 603 yard hole in 2 ....  He also hit a 368 yard drive on another Par 5 ... unbelievable.

Did anyone else watch this :?:

no...but I'll watch it tonight...back to back Dubai and Doral on repeat telecast...

guess the Ignite's working...wow...368yards...

don't know if Phil was taking his foot off the gas or not, but Tiger was miles past him on every tee-shot.

He flew one 3 wood 280 yards to the green on a Par 5 .... that's just sick :!:

So Tigger is back at #1....HOW ??? :smt017
a. because he won, automatically in his mind he's #1 again and everyone else should think so too...acorrdingly to his internal reality construct

b. he ditched the faithful titleist pt fairway wood and got molto molto dollars for starting to use the t60 new nike wood, so by winning he's added value to his own nike contract immediately, new DeLoreans for everyone! :D

he's no1 becoz the quality of the doral field meant that his win is worth more ranking points than Els in Dubai or Vj in his mickey-mouse wins last year...

He finally got rid of that old Titty 3 wood and now has a Nike...reckons he hits it a bit longer.

You can't be serious. 2 wins at 2 big events this year, and he's beat VJ in every event they have both played this year. Since the rankings give more weight to the more recent events (which was done to help give others a chance after Tiger's 1999-2003 run), he made huge strides against VJ, who didn't have a big lead on him to begin with.

The way he's playing, it's not likely anyone is getting back off him for a while either.

what about the short putt he missed on 16

Lefty had a few chance to really put the pressure on Tiger .... but choked a bit i thought.

Looks like I gotta sell my beautiful old Titleist 3 wood then and get some ugly new Nike crap.

Seriously though, good on Tiger for getting back to the top. It'd be great to see VJ, Els, Tiger and Lefty battle it out for a while yet. 8)

Vijay didnt get .06 for third.
he got 23.1 pts for 3rd.
but lost 7.42pts from his older points diminishing.

add these points his new total of 742.64 pts, divided by 63 events = 11.79 and increase of .06.

You need to look at the complete table, not just some mickey mouse website like Disney.com

Yep - Matt's been walking around shaking his head over Tiger regaining no. 1 spot (he's not a fan). I keep telling him that it's all hunky dory ('cause I am a fan) but he's sure that there is something dodgy about the ranking system..... (He wouldn't think that if Els was suddenly no. 1..... )

this is how close it should be at the top of the official world rankings 8)

.. so on any given day that the top 3 play in the same tournament, we could have a new #1 each time

cool :!:
