Oh, and yes, I'm an effective starter. Whether or not you call it "playing" I don't know. I tend to think of it in terms of golf as art, and I'm painting a canvas with my strokes to build a bigger picture.

No. He had no intention of moving the ball – see Definition of “Stroke”. However, he incurs a penalty stroke under Rule 18-2a for moving his ball in play, and the ball must be replaced.

It was hot, too hot to concentrate at the end once I knew I couldn't catch the Perci machine. Played solidly until then though.
