Zig - define custom finish irons....

Most proshops will sand/buff the heads..... or do you want the irons to look different entirely?

if you do that, wont it fill in the grooves?

It dosn't fill the stamps or etches in putters so it shouldn't be a problem!

ok, i guess the chrome plating must be super thin then.

golfworks.com does it, $25 per head for rechrome, plus as a guess, $40 each way shipping, so 8 irons, say about $300 AU.

I sold those to oncewasagolfer you tool yoss, don't believe evertything you read ;)

Why would you use the word shredded? they looked a whole site better than when i got them, go and find a pic of the mp33's the seller had, now they looked good, but in no way where they what i recieved, i tried rust buster, cokeing and a number of other things to no avail to try and remove the muck that was on them.

In the end i wire brushed them on a wheel then blued them, trust me they were much better off in the end.

Yossarian

Thats exactly why I thought you still had them. I don't believe everything I read. ;)

So are you buying another set then?

I started a thread on this exact topic in just november - maybe do a search next time?

Did i shit in your weeties Dracz?

You seem to like starting a new thread for every little thought that pops into your head - truth is there's already a wealth of information already out there regarding alot of your questions. For some reason you just can't be bothered doing a quick search on google, and rely on the kind folk at ozgolf to spoon feed you this information.

zigwah

fyi i did that search and came up with 2 threads that didnt help.

That information was from 3 months ago, so obviously not much has changed?

So what you saying is there was no info in the threads you spoke of and then have a go for asking the same question, you must be bored.

Will you be able to recoup the cost of this when if you sell them?

zigwah
11th January 2010, 01:54 PM
Definatley going to do it even if i have to send them abroad, but i want a very professional job.

Maybe even something a little different, like gunmetal grey with pearl

Do the math - if there wasn't any real useful information just a few months ago, why would there be any now? And if you did a search - you could've just posted a question in the same thread asking for an update, no?

Zig - i am not having a go at you, just a honest question...

Are you planning on playing the MP33s? From what i have learnt in the last month of so of being a member here you have a handicap in the 20s (somewhere around that)

In my mind MP33s are a club that offers little forgivness as they are a true blade....

If you can pure a blade 9 times out of 10 then more power to you, but if you are only hitting 4-5 out of 10 pure, my question would be are these the irons for you?

I apologise if this has been covered, and i am NOT having a go at you.

cheers

dave i have git mp33's before and liked them and have gone through quite a few sets since, and have regretted selling them all this time.

Yes i am off 21 atm but with a little luck and patience i don't plan being that high for long.

cheers

No worries Zig, hopefully these ones suit you and you stick to the same set for a while, so you can build your swing and tempo around the shafts and flight characteristics....

I used blades for 12 months as a juniour and it helped my ball striking to no end!

I played ram tour grinds when i was a kid, and i think its just an addiction to blades just like ho'ing.

Its like drugs sometime the quality isnt there but you keep going back

Does anyone have any experience with metal preparation? Just looking to find out what lengths i have to go to for the heads to be at a stage where they can be virtually dunked in the plating solution.

Zigwah,
There's a company in Queanbeyan (near Canberra) that are specialists in electroplating. They're called Electro Plating Technology (EPT).
Phone 02 62970535.
They've done several custom chroming jobs for me in the past. They can plate using chrome, nickel, gold, silver and all sorts of other finishes. They do a superb job for a very resonable price.
I think they would be able to do the job for you with no problems. They would probably handle the metal preparation too.
