I thought we needed an equipment thread for those sinister southpaws amongst us, like me:smt028

Some ideas ( but not limits) on what we can include in the thread;

You can out yourself as a lefty Demigod here.

Perhaps post links for online sellers you have found that carry, or specialise in Lefty gear.

Bitch about the lack of Lefty versions in desirable crubb models.

Discussed new gear that has lefty models.

Review lefty gear.

Seek help to find lefty gear.

Left-handedness and intelligence

In his book Right-Hand, Left-Hand,[29] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-handedness#cite_note-28) Chris McManus of University College London (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_College_London) argues that the proportion of left-handers is rising and left-handed people as a group have historically produced an above-average quota of high achievers. He says that left-handers' brains are structured differently in a way that widens their range of abilities, and the genes that determine left-handedness also govern development of the language centres of the brain.
McManus also says that the increase in the 20th century of people identifying as left-handed could produce a corresponding intellectual advance and a leap in the number of mathematical, sporting, or artistic geniuses.
In 2006, researchers at Lafayette College (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lafayette_College) and Johns Hopkins University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johns_Hopkins_University) in a study found that left-handed men are 15 percent richer than right-handed men for those who attended college, and 26 percent richer if they graduated. The wage difference remains unexplained, and does not appear to apply to women.

It's funny that lefties whine about there not being enough gear, but we righties are jealous of some of the stupid prices that lefty clubs go for on ebay and/or other outlets.

Embrace your inner lefty and enjoy the bargains that come with it.

My brother and dad are leftologists. They share a rather entry level set of Shark clubs that scream casual/part time hacker.

Consider that the first lefty crub review :D Happy to take a pic and post it if demand is such.

Apparently that wider range of abilities doesn't extend to standing on the correct side of the ball. :p

You should have got the left handedness beaten out of you at primary school by the teacher. It opened up a world of club choice for hoing when I got older.

How about those of us that are left handed but have just chosen to play golf Right Handed. Before the jokes come that i cant play right so I may as well change, I only did right handed because my grandfather had right handed clubs.
I actually use a combination of right and left hand for various sports

Throw/ Bowl - Left
Bat - Both - Right Better
Kick - Both, Left Better
Tennis/Squash - Left

They tried hard, got my knuckles rapped every day in Primary school.

I don't think they allow 2 handicaps anymore. The GA and the USGA rules allow only one handicap now. I think that Shawn Clement has (had?) scratch handicaps playing left or right. But he is Canadian, and we know what they are like, fweaks!

Righto, first biatch!

I am struggling to find component club makers that make more than one model for lefties. Wishon only do the 752TCs (very nice CBs by the way) and Maltby only do the KE4 model. Any other component makers I should check out?

Thanks henno, will see if I can find a KZG dealer in SEQ.

Sorry to Jack this thread Blakey.

Dave I like the MPC irons very much , they are very forgiving and feel solid on even slight miss hits.

I have put FST 125 pro in the MPC and FST hi-rev in the CER .

Have a look at the reviews on golfworks.com for more details.

Cheers,

Phil

PS all the Maltby range (MMB,MCC and MTF) have very close Maltby playablilty factors.

Thanks for the thought TDs, MTB has highlighted specs below and I am surprised about how low the offsets on the KE4s are. Will have to do some more research me thinks and will check out those reviews you mention.

do you mean like not lose half a dozen Yellow Vision balls? ;)

The KE4 Tour has the exact same specifications for weight, offset, look at address and sole as the MPC. Only difference is the design of the cavity. Your only option the KE4 is virtually the same, but the offsets are bigger in the longer irons.

If you look at the PDF of the catalogue you can see more images of the relevant clubs (if that helps)
