quick question.

My regs i had played at 38.5 5 iron, shit swing was out of the toe but a good swing was fairly regular towards the heel.

Would it make sense to go to a 37.75 5 iron in the stiffs i'm cutting and gripping tomorrow?

considering your 5 iron probably has the loft of a 4 iron - perhaps ok, but that is going to give you significant weight issues. How are you going to remove the weight from the head?

Hey Zig, sometimes you need to give people MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR to answer your questions.

Give it a day. No doubt someone will help.

Zig,

I have answered this about 5 times for you over the years... if you don't listen the 3rd time... Sorry,

(Hint - it includes impact tape)

Especially at almost 10 at night when not everyone is on the Internet...

Zig, a 5 iron head has a standard weight for a 38.5" shaft, and each head is stepped 7 gram increments, so result is you are trying to put a 5 iron head on a 6.5 iron shaft.

you take 3/4" off that shaft and the result is a change of 4.5 swing weight points

correction to my early post, you have to make the head heavier by about 10-11 grams (not lighter). i got it the wrong way around.

MTB, the STD length for most current OEM clubs with steel shafts is 37.75 to 38, 38.5 is over length.

Just chop and find out what happens. What can it hurt, after all it's just golf.
