Whadaya reckon?

Ok, that's good I suppose. I wonder why it's not progressing anywhere. I've had 1000 USPS deliveries before and they are always delivered the same day or the next day after they clear customs.

Odd. Very odd.

Definitely with Aust Post I would say heno, the question is where?. Travelling around in the back of a truck would be my guess.

I received delivery y'day of a club. It was "Out of Customs" on the 14th and that was the last entry in the tracking info.

Spoke to the AusPost contractor and said they are sooooo busy - she worked 95 hours last week.

Henno, Australia post is mostly sitting around twiddling their thumbs this time of year, probably just waiting for a few more parcels to make it worth driving the truck around.

yeap spot on PT73, my last delivery took a week to be updated delivered after it originally said out of foreign customs.

I am not sure how the delivery service works exactly, . As far as I am aware it would go from customs to the nearest delivery centre, then delivery would occur. I dont think the local post office will get it unless a delivery is attempted and cant be made, then it is dropped off at the local post office

Having said that keep an eye out for a card though, cos I have had to make a complaint against a aus post delivery guy 2 weeks ago, watched him roll up to the drive way, he stopped shuffled around for a bit, thn drove off, came back again 5 mins later then left again. (and left no card) I logged onto my USPS tracking that night and the bugger claimed that he attempted delivery twice within that time frame... I had 2 other witnesses who saw it, when I rang aus post they spoke to the delivery centre and the driver claims tht noone was home and tht he def attempted delivery.... so yeah, aus post not in my good books atm....

I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago for a package through USPS, had the same message as that for a week and a half before it was finally delivered. I figured it Aus Post just being slack ****s.

I waited for 8 days after it showed like that on the tracking on my last driver delivery. Went down to the PO and asked them if they coudl check...no result. Dude then asks addy and name and the old lightbulb lit up and goes "ohhh we have had something here for ages". No card left at home though.

I think the answer is obvious, but I've had many a "priority" delivery and it's never taken this long.

I blame AustPost - 10 days from pickup to being out of customs is entirely acceptable.

it can take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks to go through customs..

what determines this speed.....Umm...no bloody idea!!

I reckon they must be getting peeved at all these long boxes coming in.....I reckon since the dollar went 1 to 1 with US I'm thinking customs would be understaffed massively

I noticed things have taken slightly longer lately...used to be 7 days from USA to my door...now its like 10-11 days..which is still pretty good really but its not as quick as it was 3 months ago thats for sure....

and i think its because people are ordering heaps online from overseas.....because our $$ is so strong

Serious question? Probably the fact that it hasn't taken 7 days to fly to Australia since 1923.

The other issue is, I was banking on getting them by tomorrow.

There is worse to come.....

The US has instigated an elevated alert status on EVERYTHING in and out of there.

Australia now has "Operation RAMPIAN" which is a new process to evaluate ALL INCOMING purchases and their effect on the GST collection.

Could also be known as the potential "Gerry Harvey Retirement Bonus Fund" as well

Regardless there is a MINIMUM 90 DAY PERIOD, expected to be extended, where EVERY package incoming is being assessed.

I am reliably informed that the Internation Section of Australia Post in Sydney is physically out of storage space and we aren't a month into it yet

So between the ineptness of Australia Post and its 'systems' and the additional vigilance on HM Customs life is about to get worse before it improves

GET USED TO IT!

LOL mate you order so much they think your some kind of drug runner

I think this...

golfers and people everywhere are buying on ebay and other on-line sites because the dollar is strong...i think they (customs are actually understaffed)

have a look at the spike in overseas buying...everything has to be checked.....so if triple the amount of people are buying then its going to take longer, i doubt they would have suddenly employed more people to cater for this rush

Hey a conspiracy theory to throw at you...maybe the government wants customs to be slow - so we might not want to buy as much.....as importing isnt great for national economy right

LOL just a mad thought
