I've only seen 12. Not bad for me, not being much into film.

19 - half of which were a waste/to waste time, mainly on flights.

6 and 1/3. Only ever seen the first of the LotR flicks, so in their ranking system, I guess that qualifies as 1/3.

19 for me, which isn't great considering I love movies. No citizen kane or dr strangelove which are often considered two of the greatest films ever made (seen them). And where the heck is star wars!!! Obviously the 2nd three films turned them off!

Edited because I'm a dick who didn't read the 'past decade bit'. Now I'm actually quite happy with 19.

4, and would have been less if I didnt have kids.

Am surprised The Dish made that list. Not that it is not a good movie, but because its not from Hollywood.

5, although it's 6 if I get away with the standard versions of the LoTR.

I used to sit next to a bloke at work who went to the movies every Tuesday without fail. We often had this conversation:

Workmate: Oh, she's the chick in <movie x>. Have you seen it?
Larry: No.

Quite a few not hollywood movies in that list. 18 for me.

There are a few in that list that should not have made the top 1000.

As a staunch non movie watcher I can't believe my count is 22½. (We walked out in the middle of Little Miss Sunshine)

Stupidest 'best' list everI concur. Some absolute garbage in there.

The list is only for the period from 2000 to present.

It was also compiled by someone with an extreme love for animation, fantasy and anything of that nature.

As for the Incredibles I am yet to see it. Although I must admit back in the day I use to love going to the movies with mum. :D

Little Miss Sunshine was decent, but overrated.

Some crap on the list. Glad to see The Orphanage and Pan's Labyrinth on there. Both excellent films.

20... I think.

Oh man, I had forgotten about Almost Famous. I fell stupidly in love with Kate Hudson's character in that movie. Plus you know she puts out. Which is also good. ;-)

These things are important, Henno!

Yossarian
12th December 2009, 12:46 AM
Man I feel a little ashamed to have seen 41 now.

Almost Famous was a great movie. I am a golden God!

Great soundtrack as well.

Yep. I own it. I want to say it's a "good" movie, but I think the best word for it is a "journey". It's certainly immersive and intriguing, so much so that by the end of it you feel like you're coming down yourself. But it doesn't make you feel happy and gleeful, that's for sure.

Plus you get to see Jennifer Connelly's bush, which is also good. And there is of course the "ass-to-ass" scene.

Courty

I concur. Some absolute garbage in there.

Agreed. Spiderman 2?! FFS.

FWIW, I've seen 18. There are probably a dozen I've never even heard of.

Little miss sunshine was just on TV. I thought it was rather funny at times, what do you dislike so much about it mike?

mike
13th December 2009, 11:59 PM
I honestly can't remember Zac. I'll have to watch it again sometime.

The 50 best critically reviewed wide release films of the decade, my count from this list is 30 films. A much better list IMO.

I am very surprised by comments about the above list sucking.

It is a great list. A few surprises, but it has a lot of legitimately good movies on there.

My faves (leaving myself open for criticism.... but feel free to fire away): #1,2,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,12,18,20,22,23,28,29,32,34,41 & 46.
