Aussies have won the toss and are batting first.

Hayden is back in the side at opener..... can't wait to see if he makes the most of his chance.

Gilchrist is gone early :( .. but Ponting looks to be in good touch 8)

Australia 236/7 (50 ov)
New Zealand 16/2 (8.0 ov)

A few low scores in that Australian batting line-up.
Not sure how Hayden could have got a call-up, but it looks like he was the pick of the batsmen.

good to see the selection team show their faith in Hayden...
at least they're consistent...

Consistently inconsistent.
They had already dropped him.

well...they didn't drop taylor when he was struggling, or S Waugh or Martyn or Langer or Lehman....

then again, those were the test team selection...

I'll still rather have Hayden opening...

Won't play international cricket again. Had a great 2003-4 season, but hasn't been as prolific this season.
Brad Hodge is still thereabouts though.

BTW Kiwis are 4/109 after 32+ overs. They're struggling.

Best bit of cricket I have ever seen :smt038wasn't that amazing to see, he did it for all but Lee (which would probably be suicidal   ). Won a game they really shouldn't have.... 8) 8)

great win to the Aussies :!:

great to see Haydos back and making runs too, as well as Symonds chipping in with a quick-fire 50 8)

Martyn and Clarke haven't scored many runs lately :? wonder if their place in the team is under scrutiny
