I was lucky enough today to be in a group where an 11 year old member scored a 5 pointer on a par 3 128m hole at Katoomba.

Hit his tee shot to 110 cms and sunk the putt.

A happier lad you wont find today.

Well done Zac!!!!!

Well done Zac!!!!!
Thanks

Well done to him, a five pointer would be a wonderful feeling.

I've had a 6 ;)

But not as an 11 year old. At 11, I'd have taken a double bogey and been jumping around like I'd just gotten to 2nd base!

Bloody oath. It took me until I was 16 to get to 2nd base...

Hence the reason I'd have been jumping around at 11 had I gotten to 2nd base ;)

I didn't even know what 2nd base was when I was 11. Which would have made getting a five-pointer even more special.

Is that the 6th, Tomo? Nice little par 3 - I remember playing it last year that it was pretty much in between my 9 iron and PW in terms of distance. Probably no in between anything for an 11 year old, evidently...:)

Well played sir.

I had one of those once (http://ozgolf.net/forums/showpost.php?p=192919&postcount=49). I got so excited my game fell apart.

Shaz is a good luck token for me.

Yeah Kristian, its a nice little golf hole.

From the tee you cant see the green, just the top of the flag.

Its a nice PW in for most, but young Zac would have hit a 6 iron.

It got better for him, as he and his dad won the teams event with 51 points.

It helped that the old boy played 3 under for the day after being 4 over after 4.

I played like a busted arse.

I had a couple of 5 pointers, when starting off, with birdies on double-bunger holes. I didn't get another for 20 years until last December, with an eagle on a par 5, with a shot.

Although I haven't seen one, there have been a few 6 pointers on the course over the years, where a 20+ marker has holed their second shot on a double-bunger par 4.

I've had a couple.

When I first started out I smashed a drive on a 170m par three to two feet. I had two shots so I thought it was going to be a 2/5.

Standing over the ball I was so nervous that I topped it and left it halfway there

Never had a 5 pointer, guess I've just always been too good to have a high-enough handicap. :p

I had 2 x 4 pointers yesterday, though.

I have only had two 5 pointers, both off 4 or 5 handicap :razz:

Have had 2 hole in ones that have netted me 5 pointers, playing off 7 h'cap.

Also played with a guy 3 weeks ago that pulled 2 sensational shots out of nowhere to have a 2 foot putt for a 3 a 6... he left the putt short!

Easy 5 pointer though and went on to score 32pts for the round!

We have one female member at our club and we allow her to play in the men's comps.

She had a 2 for 5 on the 6th hole this week, when happened to drop me from 3rd to 4th place by a single point. Timely thread.
