Worthy of a new thread

ACT vs NSW Challenge 2 - the 2010 edition

After the ACT went down last year, we've got rid of the dead wood SMS and Welshy and might have found another player or two in Parlyboy and BlueScooter.

I'm happy to host at Gungahlin Lakes, or we could see if we could play elsewhere.

Between now and Christmas is a joke, everyone is away in January, so I am thinking February.

Anyone interested?

Feb is fine with me.

I can always host at Queanbeyan on a Sunday if needed, that way when us ACT boys win we can say it was an away win.

I'm keen to play. I could host at Mt Broughton as well. 80 minutes to Canberra, 80 minutes to the CBD.

That was going to be the venue for the rematch initially. I like the idea.

Is there a member guest rate that would be good for all involved or just your group?

I'm pretty sure I could swing it for everyone, it just depends on the day. Less chance on a Saturday for example.

Guest rate at the moment is $35.

Sounds like we should put some feeler dates out for a Sunday in February then.

If it were Mt Broughton then there's a good chance I could make it. If it were canberra then there isn't much of a chance.

Put me in pencil.

 I knew it. Just knew you would say something like that. :D

If it were Mt broughton on the Saturday then I could possibly invite 3 guys to NSW on the Sunday.

Feb sounds great, can I join the ACT team?

Count me in, esp. in Feb/March with DST.
Anywhere is fine by me (except Mac Grange and Shellharbour).

Grunt, we having a rematch with the Tourettes Twins?

ps. Parmie, don't use up all your membership privileges in the first couple of months at La Perouse. ;)

I think that would be a given. From the 4 or 5 putt to the anguish of defeat, they certainly had a hard day.

I forgot about the 7th, as I was thinking about Benno's koala-killer on the 10th and your YE Yang impersonation on the 15th.

I might be able to come along, depending on dates. However I refuse to "represent" NSW in anything. I would rather take to my old fella with a cheese grater !

Hopefully I will be back playing golf by then, so put me on the list.

SH, being a maroon, you can be their off-season trade for SMS.

Will you be expecting an RDO, meal allowance and use of a Commonwealth car with your ACT membership?

You seem to have forgotten my generous superannuation entitlements...

Sounds good to me. We were so unlucky last time.....There were single hot chicks everywhere and none of us went home with one

Tourettes twins? I resemble that remark.

Happy to play in Canberra or meet halfway at Mt Broughton - anywhere really.

It was a 4 putt thanks - after being in the front bunker for 2.

And thanks for reminding me Dotty - some of my best here.

I'd forgotten about grunts YE Yang. Some things you try to put out of your mind.

You should see me now. Retirement may have snuck up on me as the point of no return was met...

Now, back to the NSW vs ACT Challenge

Mt Broughton at Moss Vale or Gungahlin Lakes, Canberra. Its no Federal but it is a completely different course to even 5 years ago, and by Feb all the new bunker work should be completed.

Looking at say second Sat in Feb. Anyone have any major objections to that date?

ParMaster
25th November 2009, 06:04 PM
Nope I'm probably good for then.

Mt broughton would be good.

Dotty
25th November 2009, 09:28 PM
No objection here. Either venue.

Minor Threat, if you want to drive as far as Pennant Hills, I can chauffeur you, the rest of the way.

btw. The 14th (Sunday?) is Valentine's Day, if anyone needs it to get back in the good books.
