View Full Version : Adams a7 review by a chopper

Boys recieved my a7 which is the 19* version with the stock avix black 85G stiff shaft on thursday just before the champs and it got a good run on Friday, saturday and sunday.

So hear i go.

It is the most for giving of the adams hybrids i've owned( idea pro and pro golds) it has a larger head profile and the weight is further back to help it launch higher than the previous two mentioned. The shaft is a good match and i was very impressed with the feel for my fast transition swing.

The club is slightly left bias, just a touch but is easy to cut and slice if your being to cute. i was able to get it super high for some of the long par 3's to stop quick and i was also able to hit some low cuts when i needed too. and low hooks as well

Over all i think this is best for the mid handicapper who is after more forgiveness then workability, but still wants the option of trying to work the ball both ways. If you want to get an evn higher ball flight with your hybrid, give this one a go. If you are after a super workable hybrid go the idea pro (original) or give the new 9032L (from memory) a go but they are still pretty dear at the moment.

Happy golfing

It's not going anywhere :)
Great hybrid for me, might not be what a low single figure marker wants IMO

it'll be in the pro shop in 7-10days, max.

BV, did not get to hit it. Pro black from all accounts is a single figure players domain.
Nudgee had one so he could do a review possibly. He did swap it out on saturday to try an a7:)

ahh ok, i saw Nudgee's and wondered if it was a Pro Black. Maybe I'll stick with 3 iron then...

So something between an Idea Pro and an A3 Boxer?

I noticed that the Idea Pro is under $50 at RBG atm but they only have reg shafts - though I guess most hoes have access to replacement shafts.

Thanks for the report, even if it is actually a 3OD pre-proshop tactic!

Never hit the boxer, but i would say something like that.

Hey Lucasto, would you say the stock shaft plays true to flex?

Had a perv on one of these today, it had the stock reg Axiv and it felt pretty stout.

This is a lovely looking hybrid. Pretty compact head, smaller than the Boxer and a heap smaller than some competitors like the G10, MX700....

It plays true to flex, the low torque makes it fell stouter than it actually is. I have found this with most ust shafts. It's pretty damn forgiving compared to idea pro and pro gold and just as workable:smt038

I'm still arguing with myself.

I'm hoping they are more neutral than the Burners. I think they are.

Lucasto23
18th November 2009, 08:48 PM
They are mile's more neutral, you can hit draws, hooks, cuts, fades the works with the thing and p.s. they like to go straight. so man up, ditch your crummy burner crubs and buy this now.

did that help:)

Oh no, the crummy playing ability definately comes into play when considering crubs! Burner is all the way for us choppers :D And shaping shots is a definate no no.

Hey didn't I outdrive you? :D

I had a few drives longer than Jono, but that didn't make me a long driver.!

Fairways are overrated. "Effective" fairways: that's where it's at.
