I'm looking for a shaft to throw into the R9.

Want to try something Reg, but something that plays stiffer but not stiff.

I would like a high ball flight, penetrating not ballooning.

Something with an active tip

Something that goes and goes, i would like the ballflight to be HOT!! Explosive!! and looooooong.

I would prefer not to go crazy on price, but if you think the money is worth it, put it up.

What do you think lads?

That's a lot of things to ask for lmao

The swing might have a bit to do with some of these needs too hahahaha.

You want an active tip but also hot explosive penetrating ballfight. You'd have to have a perfect head for you personally to get that. You'd also have to be suited to an active tip. I'd be getting on a monitor for a few idea's for starters or trying a lot of stuff.

For a .335 shaft the fujikura "E350 fit on" shaft is surprisingly responsive, only 50 grams but currently in my Titleist driver and is a missile (and I'm not a huge fan of Titleist drivers)

It is stiff but close to X flex with the bore thru combo - hope this helps

Do these play soft to flex Jack?

Yes (stiff plays firm/stiff). I have one in my MX500. Get them here:

I'd also add, i don't have a quick tempo.

I gathered that. You are more of a swinger aren't you Ziggy?

V2's tend to play a little stiffer than the flex suggest right?

I have found i like a lighter shaft, but i like to feel that the club head is heavy.

Sell the head and buy a another driver with a factory installed shaft in regular. Companies these days go to an awful lot of trouble to select a shaft that will suit their clubs for the average swing speeds in all flexes. The clubs are tested by robot that employs a two-lever swing which is the closest one can get to the human golf swing in a machine. Any thing else is just a raffle unless you have access to a launch monitor and access to a skilled club fitter.

All OEM comapnies pay extreme attention to every individual installation of a shaft, they have the golfer at heart on all occasions. It's not about profit for TaylorMade, or Callaway or anyone for that matter. They spend hours and hours and millions of dollars to ensure that your shaft will play exactly to spec.

Yep, you will not get better than a stock shaft, mark my words.

Hi,

As another posted has already stated, The Grafalloy EPIC shaft exhibits all of the characteristics you've mentioned:

Regular plays slightly stiffer, what I'd class as FIRM
Low kick point to promote higher launch
Higher Launch is for greater carry
Low spin shaft (unusual for a low kick point shaft)
Pentrating Ball flight, doesn't ballon even into the wind
Dispersion Left and Right of centre is reduced due to the metal outer sleeve (a magnet sticks)
In testing, was shown to be 10 to 15 metres longer on average
I have i-Mix FT-9 10* and i-Mix FT-9 Tour 10.5* and I can choose either the Aldila DVS 65-R or EPIC 68-R.

Even though the DVS is MID kick point and the EPIC is LOW kick point, I hit the DVS higher than the EPIC, so I wouldn't be too concerned thinking the EPIC will hit the ball too high.

The EPIC is a very stable shaft.

As a clubmaker, I love that the EPIC has a 4" parallel tip so it can be installed into Bore Thru drivers. As it has the 4" parallel tip, it enables me to custom fit the EPIC to a specific driver head and guaranteeing that the rated shaft flex is maintained.

Kind Regards, Ken ;)
