You're weak Tourfit. Admitting defeat already and not accepting his challenge.

I'll let him know your answer.

Challenge not accepted on account of softness.

FYI...I'm neither weak NOR soft. I never said I wouldn't play Tiger...as usual, being a typical Yank, he is brash and over confident. I said I was happy to play anyone over the weekend (except you, Cpt Slow). I can play as good a shot as anyone else, and my own worst opponent is usually myself!

BRING HIM ON THEN...

My comment to iTree was merely that you might not get the choice as to who plays me at B'up anyway...due to the system you put in place. iTree might have another match in mind for me, and when you announce their name he may announce mine as the opponent.

How's the neck 'fit?

Up to that many holes in a weekend?

:smt102

It depends...I really don't know. I played 18 last Sunday and had no problems. Twinged later that night but all OK.

As for the amount of play over the weekend, and the fact that I have to drive back to Perth Sat, down to Capel Sunday morning, and back to Perth again Sun...well, let's just say I'm TRYING hard not to think about it !!!

An unknown.

Do Voltaren, Nurofen Plus or Panadeine Forte go well with alcohol...??? :)

Yeah...I'll wake up in the morning and say something like:

"Wow...I'm NEVER taking Voltaren mixed with Panadeine Forte, red wine & scotch again. 'Cos my arse is just plain throbbin'. A side effect that I didn't consider."

Just aim for the purple dragon hovering above the green. You'll be fine.

Are the above drugs mentioned in relation to possibly playing against Tiger?

You can play in the second group at Kennedy. We're going last. Provided that Yoss and Bergsey keep it in play, I expect you to waive us through when you can't TourShuffle your way down the fairway quick enough to not hold us up.

If you and Tiger are arguing when we come through, can you at least hold off long enough for me to one putt?

Speaking of putts, any news on our putters?

The back only flares up with the combination of dodgy drops and blowing big leads. He won't have any leads to blow this weekend and the "Digging Roo" is only native to Port Kennedy.

We did see a burrow about the size of the Digging Roo at PK the other day! **** knows what it was!

You sayin' what I think you're sayin...???

I actually have a specialist appointment in two weeks time. I think I'll wait for his opinion, rather than trust what YOU think is my neck diagnosis !!

I can tell you right now, I'm a lot more nervous about THAT than I ever could be about playin' Tiger or anyone else. From what my physio is hinting at (without him willing to say), it seems that the vertebrae above and below where my fusion is (C5-6) have degenerated quite a bit. It may also be that the facet joint has lost cartilage/fluid and is causing pain. The C5-6 facet joint pain is often seen in lower neck pain spreading to shoulder and scapula - exactly my symptoms!!!

The question is how severe is it, and what can be done to fix it. That is what makes me nervous - you never know, my golfing days may be numbered !!!

Johnny Canuck
24th March 2010, 03:48 PM
I'm just giving you shit, Fit. I don't doubt that things are truly messed with your neck/back.

BTW, you'd be playing the mighty yank at a neutral venue, Binningup.

Any word on my putter, or is your still waiting for NASA to return with the moon rocks that you are getting embedded into the head?

Nothing to do with it...just trying to get through the weekend.

You can play in the second group at Kennedy.
Good! As long as I'm in front of you. I won't be shuffling down the fairway either...but I DO have every intention of holding you up. I'm gonna be lining up my putts from 5 different angles and will constantly select, change & re-select clubs before shots!

If you and Tiger are arguing when we come through, can you at least hold off long enough for me to one putt?
Oh, we will be arguing, but you won't be gettin' through. I can talk and do other things...like walk & breathe. You'll still probably one putt.

Speaking of putts, any news on our putters?
Maybe...but I'm not sayin'. Except that you owe me $50.

THAT IS ALL...

Johnny Canuck
24th March 2010, 04:08 PM
The club selection thing was a one day occurrence, influenced by alcohol.

The lining up putts cannot be helped. You can't hit a good putt if you don't have 100% trust in what you are hitting. It just so happens, I'm not a very trusting person.

Just thought i would do us all a favour and work out h/c for the ambrose (last 6 holes) for us all instead of trying to work it out on the run with our iphones on the 11th.

No need, were all off 3 :?

IDG/Berg = 2.58
GN/Daz = 2.66
TF/Simmsy = 2.08

JC/Yoss = 2.25
Adlo/Zeus = 2.3
Paul/Tigger = 2.08

Johnny Canuck
24th March 2010, 11:15 PM
Are we rounding everything up? I can't remember that far back.

I picked up a bunch of scorecards today that I'll modify to avoid confusion.

Simmsy, how much of your confidence has been lost knowing that your partner is afraid to play one of your opponents at a neutral venue?

Yeah in YOUR rules you said to round up on the equation. What you reckon we go to nearest? otherwise what's the point.

TF is fine mate, just winding you and your yanky mate up a bit.

Seriously - Will Tigger punch me if i push too hard, i really want to try and make him cry no later than the 4th.

Johnny Canuck
24th March 2010, 11:33 PM
Don't worry about Tiger. He's all talk, although, the talk and threat of physical violence has lead to KB suspensions in the past (that is the truth).

Although the rules were stated beforehand, due to the strength of Team Canada, I am quite happy to allow the two teams to have an extra shot as they obviously feel that they need it.

Do you want to try and even it out even more? Maybe Team IDGG can tee off the ladies.

simmsy
24th March 2010, 11:39 PM
I'm not too proud to tee of the ladies!!

I see you have a wise head and like the battle of competition, but are you gonna whine like a US hockey player if you lose on Friday 'cause the rules changed??

Handicaps are handicaps aren't they?? You chose your own lineups, if you can't do the math then boo-hoo to you.

...but are you gonna whine like a US hockey player if you lose on Friday 'cause the rules changed??
I don't know which will be worse, the whining if they lose (and you KNOW he will) or the gloating if they win...either way he'll just be his usual insufferable self!!

Do Ovaltine or Tony Ferguson come in cans?
Ovaltine does...hey simmsy, d'ya think a small collection of tees in one of your used Ovaltine cans (I suggest only 5) will make a nice noise when pulled out of the bag mid Tiger swing???

Tony Ferguson doesn't come in cans because they would be tastier than what was inside...people would eat the can and throw the shit away!!

Duns Lakes is 10% off but not valid on weekends. Binningup is $10 per player (save $5 each) and Capel is 25% off the normal $35 green fees (save about $9 each). For 12 golfers that is $60 + $108= $168 savings.

Great w'end of golf especially Friday with TEAM IDG getting up for a big win in the MP. Great format JC, thanks for that.

Thanks to Tiger & the Big Guy for coming down to provide entertainment value and also to watch some bullsh!t recovery shots, Tiger's on the 2nd especially, unbelievable.

The DON - bad luck mate, but thanks for all the work you put into making this w'end happen.

So it's on to forward planning to 2011 champs - Zeus & Yoss, get it together and make this happen, It would be great to have a format similar to JC's MP again if possible.

Well done to all for coming down and also a big thanks to TOURFIT & MEGAWATTY for their generous donations, much appreciated guys. MW, we hope you can make it next year mate.

Surely worthy of a new avatar.....

Thanks for a great weekend guys. Pity I had to do 1000 k's of driving, I would've liked to have been there Sat night, instead of the 1hr 'without a breath' pre-concert work report my wife gave me...oh, and the chance to stave off the 'ON THE FLY RULE CHANGE' regarding the camo vest. Typical of you guys though, wait 'til someone isn't there and THEN come to some sort of consensus !!!

FAVE BITS FOR ME...

1) The wrong marker incident...Nuffie's confusion over Tiger's ball marker? "But that's my ball...are you playin' a Callaway??"
2) Paul 'sprinting' after his buggy on Capel #1...only to see it hit the biggest tree at 40km/hr. Surprisingly didn't break!
3) Nuffie, after MELTING his drive gets complimented by Paul and then says..."Nah, hit it off the back foot blah blah blah" and Paul's reply of "Fook Me Dead, best drive you've hit all day and you're complaining... you fat c__t"
4) Talking Big Paul out of holing his 5 footer on 15 at KB...to lose the match !!!
5) Playing "Un-Stableford" with Tiger for 36 holes of a 45 hole weekend !!!
6) Bergsey's lesson on "How to drink Bourbon and stay beautiful" on Friday night. Whole bottle, with Coke for colour only. 3 hours sleep, up at dawn, ocean swim and run...followed by a good score at golf! WOW.

If Tiger comes next year we need to ensure he has MORE than 14 clubs with him (SPARES!) and that he is FULLY MEDICATED....and that he plays with some other f**kers than me.

TF must have been all smiles to get the maxibon off his back!

My simple goal for the weekend...ACHIEVED. Yoss likes bridesmaid...he gets to wear the dress!!!

Happy about winning $90 NTP's on Sunday...

Disappointed in squaring MP v JC at Binningup by missing a 5 footer on 8 to win 2&1, then putting 2 in the drink on 9 to let him get square!! His eagle on the 3rd was something to behold though...268m 3 wood to 10ft and hole downhiller for a 3. Prize on the line. Typical.

Also disappointed that I ONLY scored 37 pts yesterday with the way I played...

Disappointed about inheriting the "Duck Hunting Vest", that was supposed to be for "Most Fairways Missed - The iTree Award"...because I knew nothing about it ('cos I wasn't there) and also that I drove the ball on the weekend as good as I EVER have. Hit more fairways on Fri/Sat/Sun than I would in SIX normal rounds of golf...FUNNY NONETHELESS THOUGH !!!!!

I apologise for having to leave before everyone else, however, family calls.

Great course selections and throughly enjoyed Dunsborough Country Club as well. Well organized thanks to all those concerned.

Bergsey and I were discussing for next year that we base ourselves nearer Mandurah for the drive home. However, we still play course within an hour or more. Perhaps look at a Mandurah challenge with KB, Binningup, Secret Harbour. We could still include Capel or Bunbury etc.

This would also enable those who can't stay to turn up for the day's events.

I have been busy since I got home last night. I was shattered.

What a great weekend. The Maxi-Don, I like it. The courses were great. Dunsborough was a real surprise, a top track and Capel was typical of the great parklands courses to be found in the SW.

If I could sum up my weekend I have to say I just couldn't get it going. Although I nailed quite a few drives (that's what she said), the iron shots were cold and the short game was rusty. The putter was fine, but couldn't drain anything big (that's what she said).

What a great weekend! Many thanks to Adlo, IDGG and JC for organising the matches and events, too bad I didn't make the Friday teams event(s), it was a very close finish to team IDGG. Congrats to Victor and the "little bundle of dynamites" :)

Simmsy, thanks again for organising the accommodation, the place was lovely and a very good price for us all, too bad about the speeding ticket though. Also for doing a great job flying the Hartfield flag with a great score at KB and hitting it great at Binningup.

Paul, you cracked me up on the Sunday. When I complained about my drive that I'd nailed off the back foot, you said "FOOOOOK-MII-DED. I love that UK accent! It's like Ringo Star off Thomas The Tank Engine or Geoff Boycott commentating the Ashes cricket. Funny stuff mate, great company.

Tiger, cheers for the putting tips. Send me the bill. You confirmed that "the yips" were present so I'll let you off now for the putter throw as I know what to work on.

JC - your idea of taking us to Dunsborough Country Club paid off, when you hit a hole in one to beat me for a skin, when I've hit it to about 1ft from the hole - PRICK! I believe you've also been called that once before on iseekgolf, only now I actually understand who you are..... nah just mucking, that was my first time putting on sand greens and I also enjoyed the company of Paul, Yoss, ID, and Adlo immensely during our skins showdown at sundown.

Well played Zeus - shooting two great rounds on sat/sun - 38 and 40 pts. Great effort mate! Sounds like the extra fitness regieme is working wonders and has our last few weeks playing tough comp games. Patience has truly paid off, you have more of it than me right now.

Yoss, I am very impressed by your ball-striking of late. It doesn't mean I'm turning gay for you though, so dont get too excited.

It's also good to see that the gay fade is slowly straigtening out, guys maybe he is "straight".

Daz, it's always a pleasure to catch up with you. I enjoyed your company yesterday for breakfast at Busselton, I'll be sure to bring that sleeping bag back when we have our next event and hopefully we'll get a chance to tee it up again.

Tourfit, you played very well on the Sunday with 37 pts. Thought you were a bit unlucky with some shots in patches. You drove the ball greatly as you said, very impressive. I will call you about those lofts and lies this week and thanks for the pointers, it's gonna help the score I'm sure.

Bergsey, if only I could hold the drink like you did and still play so great, all the extra fun I could have. Super effort that... something I'll possibly never achieve after attempting it on Fri nite/Sat. Yoss, Tiger and Adlo would have noticed my head spinning over those three 2 ft putts I had that never touched the hole at DL. Bergsey, you were truly the bourbon8tor of the weekend!

Despite the fact my game was a little off colour this weekend, it didn't see me out of the headlines after all - funny to think you dont have to say much to create a story, no need to make things up like Lady Gaga to get any publicity :)

Honestly, who takes a beer on to a top bunk and then passes out? Pure awesomeness.

Too right - Least you dont have to walk very far if you pass out drinking! I got that part right....however stuffed up with the next bit:

Poor Zeus down below, well he became the recipient of a "golden shower" from a pretty average sort of beer.

Can't believe I went to that from Squires IPA/Corona's early on..... must have been more drunk than I thought.

Speaking of headlines..... I was spewing I missed the end of the TourFit V.s. Tiger's debate:

TOPIC: GOLF CLUBS V.S. NATURAL TALLENT - What makes the most difference to your score?

What a dramatic consequence this would have led to - a definite recipe for a perfect storm. BUT I missed the end and passed out :(

I woke up to find out the two had miraculously survived the night, that I had showered Zeus and FINALLY - that he had pryed the dripping beer from my tightly grasped hand whilst I snored.....

GOLD!!! I can't wait for next year's champs

Hey,

Great to see the banter is still going, it was a really great weekend when you look back at everything that happened, Vic "coming" from behind !!!! to Win Friday's battle. Everyone getting wet on Saturday....in the rain... not the golden shower !!. what a finish on Sunday going down the stretch, where were the TV cameras, Zues is keeping quiet about the shank too but he still came out of the woods (not Tiger!!), on top.

Yoss, let me know if you want to win next year, I'll give you a putting lesson or two, hee, hee.

Some pics. No doubt JC has some nice pics, his camera was much better than my mobile phone camera....

It begins......

Thanks Golfnut! Alternate drives, Daz struggles on top of the worlds smallest bunker. I missed taking a photo when he fell in!

Binningup #5, great hole, both our matches still very much alive at this point.

A nice sunset, too bad it was a sunset over the hopes of Team Canuck. The final grouping, Yoss about to lose his match on #8.

Best fairways ever? The Sat PM social hit at Old Dunsborough CC, so much fun.

Sunrise over the ocean? Check. There is no need to go to Qld champs.

The best hole at Capel, the par 3 11th (our 3rd).

Old Man Simmsy pumping one out there, that's what she said, on his way to 41 points.

Looking back at #1 (our 10th). Great short par 4. Not so great for Paul's buggy (I narrowly avoided the same fate, I didn't realise I could still run that fast)

Ha ha.....Great shot Adz....remember that hole well. Daz did a great job of hacking that out of there....possibly one of the worst lies I've ever seen (sorry Daz ;))
Still reckon Daz's first ball got munched by the tractor out on the left rough!
