Hi All

With those of us staying Friday night at Pelican Waters. Are there any forward plans for Dinner and other stuff for Friday Night?

How many do we have for Friday night? Are there other options to the resort for food and Drinks?

AndyP

Although I am not officially there on the Friday night, I am only about 20 minutes away, so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I heard the plan was to get Grunt drunk to the eyeballs. We had a meeting about it, and it was decided that no planned action need be taken to achive the desired result.

I'm planning on a few 'quiet' ones friday night.

Hux
2nd November 2009, 08:15 PM
I'm thinking a quiet drink and pizza at someone elses room so it gets trashed!!

That or if I can keep Henno sober he can drive us into Caloundra for a feed....but then where would the fun in that be!

Jarro

I propose a few quiet ales and pizzas in Hux's room.

I can introduce you to my best buddy, Mr American Honey :)

if you wanna go out for some fun and nightlife, you might as well go to Nambour rather than Caloundra.

Heck, even Gympie would be better than Caloundra.

I'm thinking Ned's room...hang on the crunt is sharing with me...make that Hennos room. I think he is into honey dipping too.

I doubt it, everybody seems to go to bed with prime possum in Gympie.

Isn't Friday day 2 of the Masters?

shavey
2nd November 2009, 08:44 PM
As mentioned in the other thread, we have the function room available on the Friday night and it won't be serviced by staff.

The room will be set with a couple of tables so a few games of poker will be on the cards, pardon the pun. We should have close to 20 people so bound to be a good night, even more so if the pool table arrives early!

For dinner, we can order some snack food or make our way to the restaurant.

I'm very keen to stay onsite but happy to roll with the status quo.

Yep but watching pales to playing....
Don't have pay TV wonder if they would have delayed telecasts etc to watch on Fox?

AndyP
2nd November 2009, 08:55 PM
Shavey, if I deem it responsible to ditch the family for the whole weekend and only sleep at the outlaws Friday night, then I would like to be involved in Friday night activities. As I will be driving, that will mean 4 spare seats (and the boot of a wagon), if people decide they want to go elsewhere.

We'll have a few sports channels in house so I would hope there are some replays.

Have I mentioned that I'm likely to hang about in my room in my birthday suit on the Friday night? ;)

Not another shaved gorilla !!

Friday night in the room sounds good. We can have the draw there. I am scrounging up a stack of practice golf balls to use for the draw. We can have smashed up old ones for guys like Jarro, and nice new shiny ones for the noobs! :D

shavey
2nd November 2009, 09:35 PM
Why don't you just download a random number generator from the net and use their allocated number in the excel sheet?

PeteyD
2nd November 2009, 09:38 PM
Cos it is nowhere near as much fun or interesting, And when I do that I get "It wasn't random, how come I am playing with Shavey?" etc.

I think it will be good fun to have an actual draw, particularly if there are half of us there already.

Is the room booked for us only across the weekend? If so can we get a whiteboard?

shavey
2nd November 2009, 11:01 PM
Room is ours for Friday and Saturday night.

Will check about the whiteboard but there may be a charge as I imagine they would belong to the external AV company.

PD, were you baiting me with that last remark? ;)

Sooooo, any definite plans yet?

It seems like the best thing for me to do is to go straight to Pelican from Pac Harbour, rather than return to the outlaws. This means my car will be available for a lift between the two.

Will there be music? I hear that jarro might be bringing the full Ryan Adams discography.

Grunt
9th November 2009, 02:51 PM
What time will we finish at Pac Harbour (5:30/6?) and what will the traffic be like on a Friday night on the run up to Pelican? Is it a 1 hour drive?

It won't be a great run, but heading north after the Bribie turnoff isn't too bad, assuming no accidents. All the heavier stuff is coming from Brisbane to that turnoff. An hour is probably about right, without thinking too hard about it.

Grunt
9th November 2009, 03:10 PM
So we are looking at a 7pm check in, showers and hit the bar/function room around 7:30/8.

Last group is not off until 1:16 so if it is a slow day I doubt we will get to Pelican before 7:30pm. Maybe as soon as the round if over we just head off straight away?

Is there a rush? Perhaps we could have dinner somewhere on Bribie?

AndyP
14th November 2009, 08:21 AM
Done. It was never going to be published as we don't want people rocking up just before their own group hits off. We want all there at the same time.

It's going to be a task for someone to get 48 people in the one photo.

Daves

We ended up mostly staying at the Hotel and eating there. The Steak Sangas, Wedges etc weren't too outrageously priced and the service was most good (on Saturday night I got my Steak Sanga within 3 minutes of ordering I reckon!). $4.50/$5.50 for the domestic beers from memory.

Can we confirm that Shavey has been covered for the room hire? He was still a few bucks short on the $10 pp contributions last I heard?

shavey

Next year just include such items in the cost of the champs as compulsory, as well as cash for major prizewinners and other things. That way nobody can get away with not paying.
