Hux
18th October 2009, 02:20 PM
Hi guys

As I am hosting the NQ bandit Ned for 3 days prior to the champs and there is little point sitting around when there is golf to play I am thinking of heading over to Redcliffe for the Thursday comp (well M-F comp).

Anyone else interested?

Tee time based around other interested parties - either 7 ish to beat the traffic or @11am I reckon.

Tee Time is 11.00 and 11.06am

1. Hux 30 pts
2. Ned 36pts (sandbagger)
3. ddasey 29pts
4. Jarro 32 pts
5. eags 35pts
6. Grunt 33pts
7. Damoocow 38pts
8. Razaar 36pts

Andy

After a stuff up on dates - I had booked the wrong dates for leave I am back to work on the Monday after the champs. I have 12 days off prior to it though ;-)

My current plans leading into the champs are Bribie for the monthly medal on the Saturday - a few days of domesticity then Wednesday Bribie Midweek challenge (blue tee), Thurs (Reddy), Frid (Pac H) then champs. I should be stuffed by Sunday.

How long to get from Elanora to Redcliffe? I gather it is a bit of a crap drive on the M1 at morning Peak.

PeteyD
18th October 2009, 04:52 PM
You'd get off the M1 and go gateway. Still crap.

Jarro, just pick em up from school at 5pm, by that time they would have been rounded up from the pick up point and taken to the school office, so they will be nice and safe.

When you turn up, mumble something about you having no idea where their mother is, and why she didnt pick em up, and there will be hell to pay when you get home.

It works really well the first couple times anyway, then you just gotta wait until there is a new receptionist.

Hux

yeah we can have as many groups as we want...and book early enough.

Eleanora to Reddy will take a fair while Grant. Gateway northbound from the M1 is tragic from 6am. And I mean seriously tragic. I see it every weekday when I am heading south and it goes from bad to stationary - 6am to 9am.

Will check this Thursday about how we will go on times. Maybe 10am is an option if Grunt is trying to come up. We have a week or so to organise this.

I will call Redcliffe. I think we needed @ 11am for Grunt to get up from the goldie?

I'll book two tee times. Can you all PM real names and GLINK numbers for the booking please.

At this point I will do 2 x 3 in the hope we get another couple of players.

Excellent stuff. Played okay today with 4 really bad holes killing the score (2 x 10, 2 x 8) - another blue tee day at Bribie. Ned was killing it front nine (40) but had an 8 and a few double on the back for a 48 - Got bit by the 13th and the Bribie trees.

2) Is Raz teeing off with his putter? I knew he owned a heap of putters, but I didn't realise he carried 14 in the bag....

3) Is Eag's actually shorter than Jarro?

Anyway, thanks for the game gents, was a great day to be out golfing ... and we all scored reasonably well too :)

I was happy with the way i hit the driver today ... best i've spanked it for ages, but i need to sort out the chipping/wedge play. Taking a wipe after hitting my drive to the 100 meter marker on 3 was pretty shattering :(

3 birdies in my 32 points, with a couple of wipes included.

Upon checking Golflink I discovered something a bit strange. Played the Monthly Medal last Sat off 18.7 – shot a gross 89 [par was 71] and CCR when I checked Golflink Sat night was 69 so there was no change to my handicap. Today I assumed I was still off 18.7 so card was marked off 19 – checked Golflink earlier and the CCR for last Sat is now 71 and I lost 0.3 meaning I should have played today off 18. Golflink lists me as playing off 19 although my handicap was 18 today and I have gone back to 18.1 . So I guess that really I should be DQ'd today for playing [signing] off the wrong handicap. Still can't work out how the CCR changed though last Saturday.

Golflink will always show what handicap you played off (ie put on your scorecard) but the handicap adjustment will be made on the base of actual handicap.

You are an idiot - I played today with Driver, 6 iron and putter - please get your facts straight...

ok, so you should have played off 15 today with that much advantage.

No anomaly here MTB, Damo is a freakishly excellent player who is just warming up for the Champs.

My problem yesterday was that I had the Hux light putter instead of the Hux heavy one that he had, thats why "Its still your honour Hux" was the standard phrase on the greens yesterday.

It was doing my head in something chronic!!!!
