I doubt we'd get in one. Membership has been cancelled there, so they're not likely to do any favours.

Also, I have a day in lieu owing so I can probably play one of the weekdays as well, depending on what course we play and with which wankers. ;)

Not sure Reddy Bay has visitors on Saturday Daves. I know over summer they sometimes do.

Tuesday next week there will be an open comp on at Virginia.

Sunday - 22nd Henno arranging

The comp at Indooroopilly is a mixed 4-ball "Close of season" lunch thing. I don't really want to play in this anyway, and to remove all doubt it looks like all spots are full.

We can still play on the East or West courses for a social whack, but West is only after 1pm (course closed in the AM), which doesn't suit me at all. So obviously it is East or nuffin.

Someone propose a time slot and I'll get it booked before it fills up. The shitty comp on the other course usually ensures of that, but the AM closure will almost guarantee it.

Didn't know they had restrictions on Saturdays Petey! Rang Len, he said visitors can play if there are vacancies. There is 2 spots on one tee and all 4 on the 10th for 12.30pm, so subject to them still being open when I book so we can do Saturday.

Otherwise with Sunday at Indro potentially fallen over we could do the Sunday Medley Comp at Reddy Bay. There are tee vacancies at moment from 11.48am.

I've got a 12 seater bus that needs a run, so we could utilize that if there was enough interest for more than 1 group. Hill is a great lay out that's rough and tuff. So you were clubhouse leader. Couple of 38's, 35,34 and then a few low ones down to Henno I think.

Nah, he got beaten on a count back. Nice shooting Iain.:smt038 Myself and Lucasto managed 38s, Lucas had 21 pts on the front but could not quite hold the form till the end. It was bloody slow, 5 hrs 20 I think!

Thanks to everyone for putting up with the monsters for 9 holes. At least they behaved reasonably well.

It wasn't a hard hit though....sort of 3rd bounce from a full 5 iron hard ;-)
Must say the dawdling off the greens had me shitty so though WTF I'll just hit and let them know we are behind.

Was a good 5 iron too...little fade on it - but into that wind from 170 to be only 5 m short - after the full run was stopped isn't too shy.

Thanks for the game today guys!!!!!!!

PeyeyD, your kids were great, pity more parents dont have the opportunity to get their kids out without fear of crap from golfers and members who whinge and whine.

Maybe there might be a greater particpation by families as a whole.:D

Henno, your Mrs's is too good for you bud!

Lucasto.................Gorilla!

Unit Iain...........you were tied with some one else on 41 points.

Lazaar..............see if you can get a trade in on that wonder putter of yours.

Daves, a sandbagger in waiting, some excellent ball striking and for a supposed old bloke you certainly get it out there.:smt108

Hux.................nice second shot on the 10th!!!:smt038

In closing, go the Wedge!!!!!!!!!

Enjoyed the day lads; thanks Dave and Pete for hosting. My first look at Reddy Bay and loved it. Ugly putting reared its head once again, nothing to do with the steel thingee, everything to do with deteriorating eyes. Being a putter ho, there are plenty of putters in waiting wanting to show me what they are capable of.
Redland Bay GC was a surprise and not what I expected. It is a gem, pity it is so damn far away, but I'll be back.
Nice to meet the "toothless tiger", her brother and Henno's Michelle (you have won the lotto there mate).

Thanks all for joining us for the day. Sorry it was so long a round but I guess sitting down after for a quiet drink as the evening cooled partly made up for it. Never seen a comp so slow at Reddy Bay!

Petey - I thought your girls were a delight. Polite, respectful but at the same time full of life and just a tiny bit cheeky! perfect! I reckon I could see them psych henno out on the greens too!

Razaar and Lucas - thanks for the great company. I always learn something when I play and talk with the Lazaar:mrgreen: He is also still sneaky long off the tee block eh Lucas. A lot of putt lipouts hurt both your scores yesterday. Bloody Corellas!

Ned, Hux and henno thanks for joining us guys. You seems to enjoy yourselves from what we could see from the tees behind. Sorry I missed Hux's 5i on the 10th, it was overdue!. Actually I reckon the blokes (hubbys)? in that group were worse old women than their partners! They were real hackers!:smt013 Having said that the field was obviously blocked up much earlier and well ahead of them so it was always going to be a crawl.

Cheers

I have played late on Sunday before, and the rounds are always slow. I just come expecting it now and play accordingly.

Dave - 1 girl and 1 boy mate. Doh! That what I first thought but for some reason something someone said made me think I had it wrong?

I assume the Medley format is the root of the slow problem, but it shouldn't be. Anything over 4hrs 15m in a Wednesday comp and we think our throats have been cut! Having said that no one seemed too put off in our groups, it is just that us old buggers start to seize up if it is too long between shots:lol:

Dave, had a great arvo and apart from your excellent company :smt038 I must say the highlight was being shown the Pie Master's secret...............his favorite Pie Shop on the way back to his place for him to slave over the BBQ.

Had a bash around with some likely characters at Virginia today.

Daves is starting out early on the player of the year, another strong performance taking the day out with 39 points.

Ferrins nearly didn't make it to the 1st tee after a jaw dropper of a response from the lady in his group.............but better luck next time.

Lazaar wasn't so sexy today and struggled with his putting woes. (Use the wedge)

Thought I would do the healthy thing by walking and carrying, some one slap next time I look like doing these two brain explosion ideas again!!!!

Thanks for the games guys, course was in excellent condition, got rather hot from about the 4th hole until strolling up the 18th when the breeze picked up and changed direction.

Greens were a vast improvement on anything else in the last week.

Look forward to doing it again.

First time for me around Virginia, nice course. The fairways were immaculate, and the greens were very good, and will only get better I reckon as they continue to settle down after the coring.

Another warm Brissy day. Thought Ned was keen to carry!, but seems he just wanted an excuse for when the wheels fell off and the Wedge stopped working. No one does "Lazaar you are a sexy man" as well as Ned and it is always a fun round:smt038

Ferrins was working to his plan of getting the commitment by the 5th hole cause at this stage he believed that the bloke wasn't her husband / partner and he was never too far away from............until he found out he was the man and after that he was doing the Aussie BBQ thing, blokes on one side of the fairway and Sheila's on the other.

Pacific today, single stableford off the whites.

37 points with Henno on 34 points and Mudguts on 33 points.

Big difference playing Pacific off the whites, that said the eagle on the 18th hole for a 5 pointer was most excellent!!!!!

No doubt the other two ratbags will be on shortly to start the sledge.

Best on ground today for sandbagging was Mudguts on the 15th hole, drives through the green to the back edge of the green to turn around lay his second shot up 3 metres in front of him and about 30 metres from the pin.................to then say thats a green in reg.

Nice two putt for par Shorn!

Don't ask Henno about the lost ball on the 6th hole!

Or what he did on the 8th hole when only 90 metres from the green for his drive:shock:

Good day all round, was nice to strike some form and this in part was a result of Cobra 3 wood arriving in the post this morning, nice crub that one and did make a difference.

So Henno, what happened on the 6th?

The story's not that spectacular, just stupid. I hit 3-wood down the left tree line, but my shot into the green clips the edge of a pine tree and the ball absolutely middles a pine cone. SMS says "I heard something drop to the left of you" but I tell him that was the pine cone falling down, the ball went right. After searching high and low we give up on my ball and walk back up the hill for the par three seventh. Ned walks over to where I hit, and about 3m from the "pine cone tree" is my ball, landing just left of where I hit, exactly as SMS had said.

Or what he did on the 8th hole when only 90 metres from the green for his drive:shock:

Yeah, I've never been so close for my approach on that hole. It was off the whites I suppose, but it was also into a little bit of a breeze. Anyway, for those that care, I stuck a wedge to 6 feet or so, then proceeded to 3-putt my way to bogey in typical henno form.
