View Full Version : A spray from ISG admin...

MegaWatty

Just copped me a nice spray from ISG Admin for being a bit cynical and antagonistic.

Went a little something lie this...

"Ah yes the shameless promo – you guy a always think there’s some conspiracy going on :)

Might want to check the equipment articles we upload and put on the forums are from several companies who have never spent a dollar on ISG.

We upload new equipment articles that are major announcements from any company and a new ball from TM is definitely one of those. And going by the number of people who have read it (eg 2nd most read article anywhere on the site this week) then it seems people like to read these types of articles.

So if you please feel free to exit out of any of our “shameless” promotional posts at any stage. I hear Golf Link don’t have much in the way of decent content so maybe hang out there and twiddle your thumbs."

why would I hang out at Golflink when I could hang out here???

Dont tell him you post here, you will get banned.

My account there is active but I cannot post, the reply/post button is missing.

he claims something is wrong with my browser, yet i use about 6 different computers, 3 different OS, and problem isthe same, yet a differnet account on the same computers works fine.

Getting banned is fair enough, but why lie about it, several times.

My banning occurred immeditealy after this reply, "there are plenty of rounds (on Goldcoast) organised online, just not here" Yet the tirade of abuse against Ozgolf that followed that post by some muppet i never heard of (lives around northern rivers) was not only permitted but congratulated by the admin.

The Double standards lives on.

Funny that, despite their desperate attempts to censor their forum, the actions in the end, drive more people to the other forums. :smt038

ISG is simply aweful now. i'm still a member but only have a look every 6 months or so. So hard to navigate. Hard on the eyes. Ads everywhere. The forum software is just outright terrible.

I think the reason so many here can't let go is that ISG is where all of this (and TGF) started.

I think they are good, and there are so many pages because there are a lot more people than me that think they are good as well. The $70 you pay for the VTPP package is good value because of the stuff you get along with your dozen balls.

This is not a paid endorsement, BTW. 8-)

Well Larry ..all I can do is tell u the truth from my side .. got some introduction balls at the beginning (18 months ago?) and then paid for what ever I got after that. With all that has been written, if u believe that people post just to try get some freebies then nothing I write will change your view.

Why so many posts? A couple of reasons. The first is obviously the passion some have for the product and thats just because it is new and different and it does work (for some golfers). There are also about 8 different balls that have been introduced and they have different characteristics. We like to say how they went for us. Its not a scentific test and we are not all articulate (as u can tell I'm not). It is just ordinary golfers giving their opinions.

To be fair Vision was listed as a sponsor of ISG at one stage. I see now he is not. Perhaps that has something to do with it - now they are not getting any of his money they no longer want his input?

If that is the case...it's ordinary that they haven't let him continue posting while not blatantly pushing his product. He had some pretty interesting things to say and to be fair complimented opposition product when he thought it was due.

ISG compromises the threads for their own needs and wants, whereas the others do not. Pretty simple gents. Eventually it seems everyone gets tired of the ISG rubbish and moves on to better places.

Was just think of posting this very thing. Said it perfectly Jack. One of the beauties of being non-commercial is the only people we have to be responsible to are our members. We also don't have to worry if someone wants to bag out a company that is a sponsor.

It's not about how much quality you contribute when it comes down to advertising.

That said, I reckon the vision thread was just a bunch of blokes trying to scam as many free pills off Boz as they could by plugging the crap out of his gear, so maybe he respectfully withdrew when it started affecting his bottom line?
If that is the case he will not be impressed by the fact that many are now mewmbers here , will he. Before you answer that question Larry maybe this little bit of info will help you decide. Many of us are in contac with Boz by E-mail but feel it is worth spreading the word to give Boz a chance to promote a quality product & Aus golfers a chance to support an Australian company.
BTW I can buy AAA bridgestone balls for $1 dollar a ball. If I was a cheapskate I would be using them not new Vision balls:-)

Admin sort of denied that when I put it to him Pom!? Interesting that they are sanitising the Hot Topics list in their e-mails, according to their website and any observation the Vision thread is always in the top 5, yet not even on the list in the latest e-mail!?
Not about to admit thatare they.
Had noticed the discrepancies in the popular threads count. Seems a little childish to me. But then I did not join ISG to talk to Admin. Still have plenty of friends to talk to over there.

Mike, i have a vague memory of saving 3 of the original Xpert2's from the 2007 champs for you, i guess Courty bought em back for ya. (at least i remember you requested some if any left over, and I am pretty sure i sent off some to melbourne as well)

if that is the only ball you have tried, you are missing out on a lot. You really should get a hold of either the X3's or the Gel ball to try so that your opinion is up to date!

You may even remember that Ozgolfs premium skeptic Jack gave the Xpert2's a real bashing, but he liked the new versions as mentioned above

LarryLong

mike
3rd October 2009, 05:00 PM
Mark I don't remember making that request, so I guess Courty must have kept them for himself.

I bought 2 dozen Xpert2s a few months ago. I used one in the first round of the Mareeba open. I liked it so much I listed the 2nd dozen on ebay that night. I have 8 left which I'm donating for champs prizes.
Hard as a rock. Horrible to chip with. Cut up like a bastard. I compared it to a E6+ I used next day and the E6 looked like a new ball compared to the vision.

My opinion is up to date. I bought them. I don't like them. Plenty of others do. The world still turns as it always did.
