Gday all

when you have purchased your new set of clubs wether it be the best brand or poor brand on the market do you need to break them in?

What i mean is if you buy a brand new cricket bat it needs to be knocked in to get the best performance and so the material doesnt chip

did the old style woods that was made out of wood have to be broken in and what about the modern day type wood heads so that you can get the best out of your clubs

Just curious

The old persimmon woods lasted longer if the heads were soaked in boiled linseed oil (for a week) at least once annually.
There is a honeymoon period of 27 days with new clubs, after that they are broken in your swing habits and need to be replaced asap and so the cycle goes on.:)
