Just wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Apples winning with this model in Hawaii and Goosen using one to win a couple of US Opens.

I'm also going to give left hand low/cross handed putting a go for a while....as anyone who has played with me lately knows I'm putting like a blind man and a few sessions on the Nudgee practice greens this week have shown me that crosshanded gets the ball started on line better than conventional. With the old grip there would be some putts that I'd just think "WHAAAT"
So we will see how I go today with the new grip. and the C-Groove should be here next week. :D

good luck with the cross handed Gaz 8) I used it for 12 months a few years ago and it does make a difference....locks the wrist up nicely...

gazgolf, those Yes C-grooves certainly look sweet. I think Callaway has also brought out a line of C-grooves.

Good luck with the technique change. :)

Thats the seller.....never take that "will ship to the US only" as gospel, a lot of US Ebay sellers are quite happy to ship to Australia all you have to do is email them and ask. :D

Gaz I have putted cross handed most of my golfing life. I only tried the conventional grip the last few months. I am putting terrible with it  so I have gone back to the old faithfull cross handed again

I find it much easier to get the ball on line, especially with the short ones 8)
Good luck with it today.

Ducky, if you really want a Yes putter, I've got a bead on them at an extremely good price. John at Clubmaker Online in the U.S. was doing a special on them during the week and he delivers to Australia not a problem.

Hell, at least if I can't ho' I can help others...

Ducky, not a problem. I'll get the price & a shipping quote for you. The Tracy is a sweet looking putter, named after Retief Goosen's wife.

E-mail sent to John at Clubmaker-Online. He would have gone home by now, so I might not have an answer until Tuesday morning our time.

If others want Yes C-groove putters, John sells the whole range. You might save on shipping by getting them shipped together.

Cross handed for me too again. I've used it off and on for ages. Played with jaster and out trainee pro a week ago and putted crap for the first 6 or 7 holes. Just couldn't help decelerating through the shot. Next hole went to crosshand and slambed it into the back of the hole. Kept it up from there on.

Bumping this again because I have found both a rossa mezza monza and a rossa monza in center shaft configuration for $225. Ultimately, I would probably still prefer a C groove putter, but am willing to settle if it's going to be too expensive or too much hassle.

Hopefully my C-Groove will arrive this week sometime and by the time I get it it will cost me $237 so thats around the same kind of money you are looking at for the Monza/Mezza.
I think the C-Groove will have better resale value considering the hotness of these putters on Tour. 8)

I like the fact that the putter already has a name, so I don't have to strain myself to come up with one.

gazza...

I'm thinking the average joe golfer would have no idea what a C-Groove putter is, and would have more knowledge of a monza/mezza...

resale of the C-Groove (at the right price) would then only be to someone who knows their stuff...

Exactamundo...plenty of Ho's patrolling the Golf Forums and Aus Ebay.

As far as the resale on the Monza/Mezza I would have thought the same way until I started scanning Aus Ebay and found that most sellers can't give em away.Ask 3oneday... I think he sold one recently for $160 and they are twice that much in stores. The Mezza is the forgotten putter in Australia.

marcel,
Its just that I made everything I looked at on the weekend with the Mezza and a new crosshanded putting grip so its hard to see the C-groove kicking the Mezza out of the bag.Gotta have good resale knowledge when you are a Ho.

They certainly do! The XXX series (as labelled by 'Yes Golf') now has Tommy Lee and Brett Michaels models that come as a package deal offer with the Pamela Anderson model. However, there are some concerns over the Pamela Anderson model with complaints of rusting due to excessive use.

I heard that the P.A model used to have a large plastic insert, and since they've taken it out it's never performed the same :(

what is the advantage/disadvantage of face balanced vs toe heavy?

what is the advantage/disadvantage of face balanced vs toe heavy?

I believe that square to square putters should be using face balanced and inside to inside putters should go the toe heavy.... I read that somewhere.

i find the ebb and flow of 'hot' items interesting.

i bought a tracy 2 years ago for us$40 at the time no-one wanted a yes putter at all.

i miss the cool white headcover with the 'yes' logoo emblazoned on it....sigh.

could only get a pittance here for it back then to a local buyer after listing like 3 times...

Mine arrived today 8) ,looks nice....sexy Yellow and white Winn grip, white Yes putter cover.
The head itself is quite understated, the c-grooves are deeper than I thought they would be and it feels light compared with my Mezza.
I'll get up early tomorrow and give it a roll on Brisbane's finest greens at Royal Nudgee. :D

I agree, the head feels a lot lighter than what I had imagined. I am going to the course tomorrow at 5:30am to try it out.

Well I just got back from the course, and I must say that Natalie is great! I have never felt as comfortable putting as I did today. What I had stuggled with in the past (in relation to putting) had been the stroke contact, but this was not an issue with Natalie and I was able to focus on the stroke line instead.

I ended up having 14 putts (5x two putts, 4x one putts) for the 9 holes that I played, which I was really pleased about considering that most of the putts were outside of 20ft. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

:)

Kind regards,

Ben (Ducky).

I've got a c groove . I don't know what her name is  but it's the one with the soft insert and it's the best putter I've ever used. And it's got the cool white putter cover as well...

...best putter I've ever used ? What am I saying . I've only owned two.

gazgolf1
7th February 2005, 03:17 PM
Ok well I've had Tracy 2 for about 5 days now and I've decided that is long enough.

I'll be honest the reason I'm going to sell it is pure unerdulterated greed

I'm hoping that with the press these putters have been receiving lately some Ho will pay more than he should for a ball rolling stick.
It's the same reason again for why I'm not putting it in the Pro Shop here....yep greed, plus you guys know what I paid for it.
Don't get me wrong it's a great putter, the c grooves put a nice tight roll on the pill but I like my Mezza and prefer centreshafted putters these days.
Anyway AndyP and 69'r go for it,I'm prepared for the barrage. :smt064
