I picked up Capcom Classics for my XBox of ebay not too long ago. Nothing like some Street Fighter 2 action. One of the best games ever.

Indeed.

Whilst the Special, Tournament, Championship editions etc of SF II that followed sucked the big one, the stock standard original Street Fighter II was the awesome!

Hang on fellas, we're crossing too many generations of gaming here...

Early stuff...yeah Galaga and Gyruss (loved that game)
Next Gen.....MK for me, didn't mind Killer Instinct...didn't get into SF much
After that I did too much drinking to remember what games.....just remember beating the sh!t out of that Punching machine in Time Zone
Now.....still love Tiger Woods 09....wish I had the time to play all the latest roll playing stuff.

Way back in the day I wasted a heap of money on Golden Axe (I grew up in a town of 2,000 people - there wasn't much choice about...it was that or Paperboy). I loved that game!

And then I found this (http://www.blazeeurope.com/sega/sega-megadrive-handheld/prod_3.html) - comes with Golden Axe! I'm so hitting that...

But yeah...MK > SF...

Matt 3 Jab

I have a full MAME setup. 2 player

I love MK1 and MK3, MK3 seems to be the end of the original ones, and seems to be the one most people still play.

SF2 CE is the all time fighter.

SF4 is insane, love it

Best game ever though, would be a toss up between japans "Birdie Try" or sketchin for mega drive.

My games of choice through the years:

Shinobi
Street Fighter II
Daytona USA

I put more money through those 3 games than I care to remember.

Having no idea of this thread, or reliving classic arcade game memories, my wife came home from Tafe with some "games" off the local hard drive at Tafe.

International Karate was my fave on the C64.
Galaga.
Golden Tee golf on my old PC laptop.
Gyrus . . . Can't believe no love for this.
Double Dragon was sensational.

1942 was good but there was a chopper game like this a bit later on... cannot remember name though... and also there was a tank game called battlezone or battle tank or something like that. Love that one to death. I may have been 8 years old when this came out.

Operation Wolf, Sega Rally and Afterburner probably cost me the most amount of coin as a teenager. I even saw a newer version of Afterburner at Warriewood a few weeks back.

Sega Rally was way better than Daytona.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. It was 100% free and was meant to be a new product or an add-on for Wolfenstein, but was ditched by the developers and then released to the market as a freebie. It was the first great game to really utilise ADSL.

2 teams, 6 maps playing as any of 5 classes in maps filled with anything from 12 to 32 players - blowing away multiple kiddies with a single rocket launcher was always great fun. Being Covert Ops and running around stabbing the opposition with your knife dressed as the enemy was great fun - real adrenalin rush. To this day it remains unrivaled for being readily available and relatively free from hackers. It's probably still around.

I still have nightmares of Mortal Kombat. I used to run a video games store (Megadrive days) and the owners son (8 year old) beat me time and time again - including fatality. It was devastating, but I always came back for more despite his taunts.

My grandfather had a unit on the canal a couple of hundred metres away from Cavil Ave... gone are the days when you could walk through to the beach barefoot as an 8 year old kid.

CoD 4 was great fun but the single player was too short. Online was a lot of fun, I made it to level 50'ish before moving on to other things, but I was still getting smashed by kids from all over the world.

I started playing Burnout Paradise on the PS3, great fun racing. Offline is good, online is fantastic, with 490 multiplayer challenges (I've done about 80 so far!).

The next game for me will be Gran Turismo 5. I just picked up LEGO Batman on the Mac, it's fun for a bit of bash'n'giggle.

Otherwise I spend my time playing Drawrace or Peggle on the iPhone ;)
